Shooting Formidable's maid version from Azur Lane this time really required putting a lot of thought into recreating the costume details. This black-and-white maid outfit might look basic at first glance, but its layering is actually exceptionally strong. From the lace trim at the neckline and the red heart decoration on the chest, to the detachable sleeve design, every single piece needed meticulous styling to present the most appealing look. Particularly the skirt hem, where multi-layered ruffles, lace trims, and pleated borders overlap; when walking or sitting down, the angle of the petticoat constantly needs adjustment to guarantee that fluffy, gorgeous voluminous feel. To perfectly match the character's design, I specially chose a light silver-white wig with a hint of gray, and trimmed the blunt bangs. Regarding makeup, emphasis was placed on the eyes, matched with red circle lenses; I practiced my gaze in front of the mirror for a long time, wanting to capture that doll-like vibe that is both elegant and slightly dreamy. The base makeup required a clean and translucent finish, paired with blush to add a touch of vitality.

The shooting scene was chosen in an indoor studio featuring Gothic stained glass windows. When light filtered down through those colored glasses, the entire atmosphere instantly popped. To match this high-key and bright style, the lighting technician also poured immense effort into the lighting setup, ensuring facial light was soft and even while also bringing out the black-and-white interlaced texture of the costume, which demanded extremely precise angles for the reflectors and softboxes. The white plush sofa is truly an exceptional prop; not only can it reflect light for fill lighting, but its fuzzy texture also neutralizes the cool rigidity of the black-and-white maid outfit, making anyone sitting or leaning on it appear relatively relaxed and natural.

Besides the costume, prop preparation was also crucial. I brought a black tray holding a pink dome cake, sliced strawberry cake, and chocolate cake. These small desserts were crafted to look remarkably realistic, and when holding them to pose, the frame never looked empty while adding a bit of everyday liveliness. Additionally, I prepared a clipboard and pen prop; holding it in hand while striking a reception- or reporting-like posture instantly enriched the character's narrative sense, making the photos look as though some everyday interaction was taking place.

To ensure the visual effect of the legs, I wore White stockings featuring black lace trims and red bows at the cuffs, paired with black platform Mary Jane shoes and lace ankle rings, which wonderfully flattered the leg shape and echoed the overall black, white, and red color tone. While posing, the photographer captured numerous details using a Sony A1 paired with a 28-70mm F2.0 GM lens. For instance, the crossed-leg posture while sitting on the plush sofa not only made the lines look more graceful, but also made the overall posture appear more elegant. Other playful micro-actions like resting the chin on the hand or placing a finger near the lips were meant to keep the overall presentation from feeling rigid, infusing more liveliness. When shooting full-body photos, the large back train also tested posture control; it required a slight twist of the waist and a look back to showcase the skirt's back layers and front leg lines simultaneously.

The process of shooting this photo set was immensely delightful. The collision of black and white under the reflection of stained glass displayed rich visual layering. While handling those elaborate laces and trims, although somewhat tedious, discussing composition with the photographic team on-site and trying out new poses made the entire process deeply fulfilling. Every shift in gaze served to make the character even more vivid and vibrant.
