[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Outdoor photo share at Firefly ACG Expo

A couple of days ago, I shot a set of Shimoe Koharu photos at Firefly ACG Expo. Fresh off getting the convention photos back, I quickly organized them to share here.

Preparing this outfit this time involved trying hard to faithfully recreate the character's key visual features. Let's start with head details: the pink straight-bangs wig was trimmed to flatter the face shape, flanked by dark blue feather hair accessories positioned just right. The most eye-catching feature is definitely the floating pink halo overhead; this bright glowing accessory alone provided great recognizability among convention crowds. The thin black leather choker around the neck features a small pull-ring, simple yet accentuating the look.

For clothing, I selected a black, white, and pink color-blocked sailor-collar hoodie with an off-shoulder design, layered over a color-matched narrow camisole inside. This restored the character's refreshing feel without making the upper body look overly heavy. The jacket sleeves are loose and comfortable for walking. The lower half features a deep red pleated skirt; since the jacket is longer, it reveals just a section at the skirt hem, working with white mid-calf boots to keep the visual focus centered around the waist and legs, rendering crisp proportions.

The dark blue and black wings on the back were the largest accessory in this ensemble. Although feathers can easily get a bit messy during shooting, fortunately, they were well-groomed and secured before shooting, preserving the garment's overall silhouette. As a gentle breeze blew occasionally during shooting, the fluttering feathers fitted the original character's light, slightly casual aura quite well.

As for props, that dark red cover booklet had great physical texture, with exquisite white edge patterns. Communicating with the photographer during shooting, we opened the inner pages: the line "only you" alongside the R18 mark on the right added a fun, interactive highlight during the shoot that turned out very eye-catching. Additionally, the long black umbrella-like prop with a pink pull-ring at the tip enriched hand placement options whether held or cradled, preventing awkward hand positioning.

Choosing the shooting location was key this time; rather than sticking strictly to crowded indoor hall areas, we opted for an outdoor greenery backdrop on the convention perimeter featuring sofas and stone paving with softened lighting. The full-body standing photo in Figure 4 is a personal favorite—lighting falling across the body felt clean and translucent, preserving the natural drape of the jacket hem and skirt, while white boots looked sharp against the dark outdoor background. While adhering to character lore settings, I maintained natural postures without overly forced posing.

Overall, portraying Shimoe Koharu this time was a wonderful experience. Although the wig and wings required constant touch-ups during long walks, the styling completion and prop fidelity reached expected results, making this an unforgettable convention photo record for this Anime cosplay session.
