[Alice (Combat) cosplay] Blue Archive Tendou Alice combat form photoshoot record

This time, I'm bringing you the combat form of Tendou Alice from Blue Archive.

Material selection for the wardrobe was paramount to the visual presentation of this look. To faithfully recreate the technological edge and mecha elements of the character, the main bodysuit was crafted from high-gloss PVC. This material yields striking reflections under studio strobes, sculpting body contours exceptionally well. However, high-gloss fabrics also come with drawbacks: fingerprints and creases transfer with the slightest touch during shooting. I kept specialized microfiber cloths and maintenance spray on set, meticulously wiping down and smoothing the surface after every sequence. The over-the-knee boots were similarly styled in glossy material, featuring custom prints along the white upper cuffs; slipping into them required rolling down the shafts before gently easing them up. Paired with high heels, my center of gravity naturally tilted forward, demanding strong core engagement to stay steady during poses.

The floating, illuminated cubic headdress atop the crown was one of the key technical hurdles of this cosplay. I constructed it using clear acrylic combined with light-guide plates embedded with LED light strips, secured directly to the wig cap inside. To make the headdress appear truly suspended in midair, I reinforced the support structure within the wig and coordinated specific upward camera angles with the photographer to hide the support armature through perspective tricks. The wig featured long, gradient teal-green twintails prone to tangling; during breaks, I diligently detangled with leave-in conditioner spray and a wide-toothed comb to keep the strands sleek and frizz-free during dynamic action shots.

For set props, we gathered a vintage CRT television, Famicom-inspired game controllers, and several retro game cartridges. This pairing carried deliberate narrative weight: contrasting the character's futuristic mecha aesthetics against nostalgic electronic relics generated a fascinating visual tension. During the shoot, key lighting utilized softboxes as a gentle base, supplemented by two side-backlights to trace luminous rims along the glossy bodysuit while preventing specular blowouts from obliterating fine textures.

For pose direction, I deliberately avoided overly convoluted combat stances, choosing instead simple peace signs and standing poses with arms slightly open. The tailored silhouette of the suit was already expressive enough; minimalist poses allowed viewer focus to rest squarely on the fabric textures and overall styling. The first photo leaned into a more lively, playful mood with the V-sign, while the second focused on the clean, static presentation of the complete wardrobe.

Looking back at the whole shoot, this Alice (Combat) look demanded substantial patience for prop assembly and wearing comfort, but the final frames—seamlessly merging anime Mecha style aesthetics with retro nostalgia—thoroughly matched my vision.
