[Arlecchino Cosplay] Fatui Harbinger Beneath the Red Curtain - Image 2

Stepping in front of the pure red backdrop in this Arlecchino outfit allowed me to immerse myself in the character much faster than expected.
Compared to overly complex designs, this costume based on black, white, and red key tones is immensely helpful for presenting a high-end feel.
To fit the image of "The Knave," a high-ranking, powerful, and scheming Harbinger, I deliberately eliminated all sense of relaxation in my movements.
As for the physical texture of this outfit, I must praise the attention to detail during customization. The silver-greyish-white coat uses a structured fabric with subtle dark patterns and slight reflectivity, enabling the shoulders and cuffs to refract sharp edge lines under strong stage lighting.
The red star-shaped ornament at the collar needed to fit securely right in the center of the black necktie without breaking the overall minimalist design. This tested our patience during dressing, as even a tiny tilt would look jarring under a close-up lens.
In addition to the neat short hair in front, the waist-length silver-white hair tips on my back brought significant visual weight.
When moving my body in the studio or simply turning around, the swaying trajectory of the hair tips interacted perfectly with the trailing ribbons at the coat's hem, creating a sharp dynamic balance.
Today, the pure red background wall served as a fantastic curtain, which, combined with large-area spotlighting from the left, firmly stamped the shadows of the person and props onto the red backdrop. This dominance of light and shadow matched the sense of oppression expected of a Fatui Harbinger in Genshin Impact.
Regarding body expression during shooting, the pose with crossed arms in front required deliberate practice.
It is not merely to cover the body, but a body language combining defensiveness with dominance.
To make the contrast between the sharp black claw ornaments on my fingers and the cuffs appear natural, I adjusted arm height and angle multiple times.
When turning my back to the frame, I had to present an extremely stretched posture to match the exaggerated sense of extension when holding the long-handled scythe diagonally backward.
This is by no means an easy posture to master. Without repeatedly building muscle memory in front of a mirror beforehand, it is easy to look stiff and awkward on camera.
Every time I gripped that giant scythe with thorny spikes, I had to adjust my force application points.
The weight of this weapon is real, especially when shooting a full-body back view that required holding it single-handedly to showcase the scythe's curve in its most dramatic form, demanding wrist and shoulder core strength.
The same goes for the high-heeled boots. Although the black base with red-edged tips looks highly aggressive visually, standing on the floor with an imposing aura required constantly shifting my center of gravity during long shooting sessions until the photographer captured the most satisfying composition.
For makeup and styling this time, I chose a cold base makeup and silver-grey eyeshadow, aiming to highlight the character's aloof and distant coldness.
This work is not a simple stacking of props, but an attempt to restore that highly recognizable aura on Teyvat through costume textures, specific postures (such as the defensive yet confident arm-crossing pose), and contemptuous yet focused eyes.
This process of moving from 2D characters into 3D reality requires a unified understanding of the character among the photographer, makeup artist, and myself. Fortunately, the final results turned out quite good, allowing me to feel that unique ruler's presence from the photos.
The high-heeled boots with black bases and red edges are one of the grand finale details of the entire look.
Although the red blade-like design on the sole easily bumps against the floor during everyday walking, I had to maintain alertness throughout the shoot while presenting an unhurried, composed stride for that sharp, ferocious look on camera.
This counter-intuitive control is precisely a very interesting experience in Anime cosplay.
