[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] White Dress Girl in Blue Archive, Elegance in Simplicity

Shimoe Koharu's white outfit in Blue Archive turned out to be much more complex in terms of detail replication than I had anticipated. Taking advantage of good lighting today, I captured a quick log of this makeup and styling look in front of my room's mirror. Although strong lighting overexposed the upper half of the image from this angle, it accidentally highlighted the ethereal, dreamy texture of the outfit.

Starting with the hair and headpiece, I chose a light pink wavy curly wig for this look. The curvature of the strands was kept relatively natural without being forcefully smoothed down, matching Shimoe Koharu's fluffiness, vitality, and slightly tsundere demeanor in her character design. The headpiece features two black bow-like decorations, which provide the strongest color contrast in the entire look, nicely raising the visual focal point of the head. To capture her essence more accurately, wig details and wear stability were carefully adjusted to maintain shape whether during Casual cosplay photography or dynamic shooting.

The main costume is the core of this ensemble: a white paneled form-fitting top featuring a deep V cutout design that puts body proportions and neckline contours to the test, while black lace-up ties and 3D pink rose decorations on the chest add layers of intricate detail. The sleeves utilize a detached ruffled design for flexible movement without looking heavy. The lower half features a fluffy, short multi-tiered ruffle skirt, built-in with dark safety undershorts; this clever design bestows layering upon the short skirt while guaranteeing security and overall silhouette. Looking closely at the white cape or train edge lifted on my right arm, one discovers a pale lavender-blue lining and white patterns; this large-scale fabric fold creates bold lines during posing, producing shots full of visual tension.

From a photography perspective, choosing an eye-level Mirror selfie puts self-control and body positioning to the test. Holding the phone with my left hand to cover my face shifted the entire visual focus onto the outfit's details and lower-body styling. White over-the-knee socks paired with white pointed low heels visually elongated my calves while maintaining color harmony, giving the Anime-style fashion look a pure yet exquisite feel. Since this look didn't include exaggerated props, the tailoring of the outfit itself became the biggest highlight. When holding up the skirt hem, I deliberately turned my wrist slightly outward to let the cape flare open naturally, creating a light, floating effect that maintains dynamic beauty even in a static standing pose.

Every time I cosplay a character, I reflect on the balance between her inherent temperament and my own aesthetic interpretation. While Shimoe Koharu's design contains stylized elements typical of Anime-style fashion, it retains a strong sense of wearable fashion under natural light with great material sheen. Shooting in front of a mirror at home may not match the rich lighting of outdoor locations, but its strength lies in relaxation and naturalness, capturing pure, candid moments. Shooting casually with my phone without heavy filter retouching was meant to test authentic fidelity. Experimenting with different character costumes and accessories, aligning with character essences through varying proportions and tailoring, and experiencing distinct personalities with each outfit change—this remains my most ritualistic little joy in my Casual cosplay journey.
