For this shoot, we chose a cardboard box as the main prop because the shooting location's grey concrete floor was rather coarse, creating a wonderful visual contrast when paired with an ordinary cardboard box. To naturally curl up inside this small space, I tried numerous poses: gripping the box's edges with both hands while leaning the torso slightly forward, or sitting entirely inside the box with both hands raised like cat paws. These actions made the frame look much more interactive.
Wardrobe-wise, I wore a white Sailor suit featuring black lines and a black bow at the collar, layered with an oversized beige knit cardigan over top. Since the cardigan ran a bit large, I made sure to roll up the sleeves slightly during photos to reveal the lines of my wrists and fingers, preventing the overall silhouette from looking bulky. For the lower half, black Over-the-knee socks and black Mary Janes were matched; the Over-the-knee socks offered fantastic visual elongation, especially within the constrained space of the box, where the curvature of the thighs and knees paired with the socks highlighted the leg contours beautifully.
Regarding styling and makeup, the pink wig was styled with gentle waves and textured layering to hug the facial contour seamlessly. The eye makeup utilized large-diameter amber colored contacts, paired with aegyo-sal contouring and under-eye blush, primarily designed to recreate that characteristic 2D innocence. My nails were painted a soft lavender, blending harmoniously with the overall color palette. One close-up shot features me with my hands crossed over my chest against a blurred, cool-toned architectural backdrop; to evoke that serene ambiance, I deliberately slowed my breathing, keeping my gaze in a slightly unfocused, tranquil state.
The most entertaining part of the shoot was practicing control over my movement range inside the cardboard box. Because the space was narrow, any slightly exaggerated movement would hit the box walls, making it difficult to maintain elegance. Consequently, I spent considerable time adjusting my center of gravity, shifting my weight toward my lower back and legs so that my upper body could relax, capturing that languid yet playful vibe.
The photographer is exceptionally skilled at utilizing light; most of these photos relied on natural diffuse lighting without harsh shadows, rendering the skin texture remarkably translucent and clear. The edges of the cardboard box served as a natural picture frame for the frame, drawing visual focus squarely onto the subject's face and limb gestures. Overall, this finished set feels like a deeply satisfying experiment, and I hope this quirky yet adorable moe charm of the cardboard box girl shines through these photos in this Cosplay photography set.
