[Xishi Cosplay] Honor of Kings: Cool Blue-Toned Style in a Real-Scene Studio - Image 2

The full Xishi photo set from this real-scene studio shooting in May is finally sorted out. This is probably the blue-themed shoot that best matches my mental vision recently.

The color palette of the entire outfit this time is a very clean gradient of blue and white. The details of the frog buttons on the top are exquisitely crafted, and the sleeve curves and pearl embellishments at the neckline are just right. Paired with long straight black hair with straight bangs, as well as a blue headband adorned with pearls and tassels, the overall look leans cool, elegant, and composed.

The arrangement of the real-scene studio was a huge plus, with a large area of cyan-blue calligraphy gauze curtains serving as the base, giving the entire space a translucent feel like an ink wash painting. Beside it, an antique-style wooden armchair and a low table were paired, with props like ink bottles, small bamboo slips, and rice paper scrolls fully provided. The dark wooden flower stand adorned with pink flowers served as an embellishment, neutralizing the overall cool color palette so the frame wouldn't look too monotonous.

During the shoot, I experimented with two different states. Photo 1 is a close-up medium shot, holding the bamboo slip prop while slightly tilting my head, which nicely showcases the facial makeup/styling and some subtle expressions. Photo 2 is a full-view sitting pose, curling up in the wooden chair, which turned out to be the most relaxed state. The lighting setup in the real-scene studio was well-executed; the bottom lighting combined with the cool-toned ambient light from the surroundings made the white and blue silk fabrics look very translucent and lightweight in the frame, with the characters behind the gauze curtain faintly visible, truly capturing the character's gentle and quiet temperament.

Aside from the accuracy of character restoration, I cared more about the texture of the overall environment in this set. Since the feature of this shooting location is its "ethereal aura," during the actual cosplay photography, there was no need for highly complex movements; just sitting naturally or playing with the small props on hand made the frame look incredibly rich. The match between the outfit and makeup beautifully highlighted my temperament under this cool-toned light and shadow. Although the weather in May was already a bit hot, the studio's air conditioning combined with the breathable fabric of this outfit down to the finer details made the shooting experience quite comfortable.

Being able to present such a natural, cool, and elegant state in this set is also thanks to the photographer's control over light and angles. As an attempt at traditional style cosplay real-scene studio shooting, the final effect truly met my expectations.
