After shooting several outdoor sets in a row, I'm releasing this dreamy-style set first. This work, shot on November 13 last year, was forced to settle for thirty days due to previous account restrictions, but now it can finally be formally shared.
A lot of thought went into the wig and accessories for this styling. For that iconic looped bun on top of the head, I did some internal reinforcement processing myself so that it could maintain its original curvature even in windy outdoor environments, without easily collapsing due to walking or raising arms. The white lace ruffle hair accessories on both sides enhance the overall magnificence, and combined with the pink heart-shaped hairpins on the forehead, the visual focus is highly clear, exactly guiding the gaze to the facial features. The wig color selected the classic and highly recognizable cyan, with the ends gradient-dyed into pink. This two-color patchwork effect delivers a particularly excellent contrast under the outdoor light source. The material of the twin-tails chose a relatively fluffy style, so that when turning around or waving props, the stretching and floating trajectory of the hair strands appear exceptionally smooth and natural.
In terms of makeup, this time I tried pairing it with a slightly pearlescent upper eyeshadow, combined with a cat eyeliner that slightly elongates the eye shape. The colored contacts selected a light cyan-green that echoes the wig color palette. The resulting effect of the overall eye makeup makes the gaze deeper and more agile, fitting better with the setting of the "princess" imagery. For the blush and lip gloss, I unified them in a pink-orange scheme to reduce the aggressiveness of the makeup and add some approachability.
Regarding costume coordination, this modified maid dress dominated by light blue layered over pure white is indeed very photogenic. The pink bow at the collar serves as a great visual anchor, not only echoing subtly with the pink at the hair ends but also preventing the upper body from looking monotonous and dull. The skirt hem underwent a multi-layered stacking of lace and tulle; the advantage of this is that the three-dimensional flare of the skirt hem is exceptionally obvious when standing or sitting up high. The matching white lace short socks and high heels with light blue bow details exactly stretch the leg lines vertically, making the overall body proportions look very slender.
The weather on the shooting day was excellent, and the light was relatively soft. The choice for this ACG outdoor location was mainly because I took a fancy to the surrounding area featuring sculptures with pink elements and heart-shaped hollow railings, which perfectly matched the tone of the overall costume. To match the dreamy theme, the photographer specially prepared a string of pink and white balloons as an interactive prop. Whether holding it in hand or reaching upward slightly to touch it, it could nicely balance the color proportion of the frame. The action in the photo of kicking one leg up and reaching out to grab the balloon, along with the snapshot moment of sitting on the railing and waving to the camera, were all intended to break the rigidity of static posing, keeping the body and wig within a dynamic flow. Thus, after the shutter is pressed, the entire frame appears more vibrant and full of breathing room.
For the post-color grading direction, we tried our best to preserve the pink and light tones in the environment without intentionally darkening the background. The overall light is soft and bright, making it look like being in the afternoon of some fairy-tale town. Although the weather wasn't cold when shooting this set, wearing this kind of short skirt to perform large movements in an open outdoor area made my legs feel a bit chilly after being blown by the wind for a long time. However, to freeze the ideal effect ultimately, these hardships felt completely negligible when selecting the photos.
Being able to lift the ban and update again this time, I happen to have sorted out this accumulated photo set on hand, counting as a brand new beginning. Treating every detail of the shoot seriously to properly replicate a look—I feel this is exactly the fulfillment that cosplay brings to me. This set of Cosplay photography successfully preserves the moment the wig flutters, with the atmospheric feel being just right. I hope sharing it can also let everyone feel the dedication at that time.
