[Grinning Professor cosplay] Academic Mystery in Blue Archive

The moment I changed into this black sailor suit and beret, it felt as if I had stepped right into that academy filled with riddles and ancient Egyptian elements. The long blonde hair paired with the iconic crescent headpiece and the red bow at the collar completely restores that elegant yet slightly aloof temperament of the Grinning Professor.

This shoot was specially set in a retro study scene; the leather sofa, globe, and black cat sculpture all perfectly fit the academic atmosphere of the character's setting. The addition of the black umbrella and cane props allows both standing and sitting poses to convey a deeper sense of storytelling. For the makeup, I emphasized the contours of the eye look, as the depth and mystery within the character's gaze are the absolute soul of this portrayal. During the shoot, I communicated a low-saturation, dark-toned scheme with the photographer, using the contrast between natural light and the warm tones of the desk lamp to make the layers of the frame richer for this piece of Anime-style photography.

The combination of black stockings and the uniform skirt is a classic element, while safe coverage handling was properly done to ensure the focus of the frame remains entirely on the overall atmosphere. Every time I portray characters with this kind of intellectual charm, I repeatedly refine small details, such as the position of the bowtie, controlling the frizz of the wig, and the naturalness of hand movements. In the final photos, I really like the shot of me sitting on the carpet holding the umbrella; the posture is relatively relaxed, but the gaze is focused enough. I hope to convey that feeling of the Grinning Professor appearing nonchalant but actually being in total control. The world-view of Blue Archive is incredibly fascinating, and being able to recreate a corner of it in reality through Roleplay brings a great sense of fulfillment.
