Kitten Sandrone... I only remembered to post this set after her banner ended. Indeed, photo selection and retouching after every shoot always get delayed for a while, but seeing the finished photos makes the wait feel totally worth it. To faithfully recreate this character's design, a lot of thought went into makeup prep and lighting atmosphere this time.
For this shoot, a cozy indoor home setting was chosen—wooden glass window frames, off-white sofa, and lace curtains letting in natural light—creating a lazy, serene afternoon vibe. Outfit-wise, the black, white, and orange dress features very rich layering. Head ruffle decorations paired with black bows and silver-gray hair give a full visual impression. Off-the-shoulder cuts and detached black sleeve cuffs are key highlights, displaying collarbone and shoulder lines beautifully. Red gem embellishments on the chest and subtle golden patterns along the skirt show great texture under the light.
Wanting to display a quiet yet casual feeling, relaxed movements were emphasized throughout this Casual cosplay shoot. Especially matching the reading setup, turning book pages on a floral fabric armchair while crossing my feet, white tights paired with black red-bottom strapped platform heels visually elongated lower body proportions. The texture of white tights paired with the intricate skirt turned out amazing on camera. Shadows projected on the dress and legs by window light gave every photo an instant sense of story.
Big thanks to photographer @YongzheA for his great insights on light capture and composition. In a limited indoor space, he made full use of natural light directions, keeping the overall frame bright and translucent while retaining shadow layering so the white socks and exquisite shoes remained super eye-catching. Throughout the shoot, we constantly communicated movement stretchiness, catching moments of looking back or glancing down while reading very accurately.
Regarding outfit handling for this set, I felt it tested not just design recreation, but how to give the character a grounded sense of life. Though set as an elegant or slightly mysterious character, in this home setting, she becomes more like someone occasionally sitting by the window reading a book. Daytime light softened the heavy black and gold palette, harmonizing with gauze curtains and green plants into a refreshing baseline tone. The shoes matched the beige floor nicely without breaking overall color unity.
Completing a photoshoot set takes real effort behind the scenes—from prepping props and styling wigs to communicating with the photographer and final photo selection. Every time I see finished photos, those anxious moments about finding light or missing props turn into fun memories of the creative process. A character's soul lies not just in clothing replicas, but in capturing the exact expression and atmosphere of that moment. Sharing this set serves as a record of my state during the shoot.
