This time I'm cosplaying Misaki from Blue Archive. The theme is being obsessed with gaming and not letting me play, just staring at you like this.

The color scheme of this outfit is quite recognizable: a bright yellow fisherman's hat, paired with a pink long-sleeved jacket featuring a white turn-down collar, and a simple black pleated skirt on the lower body. To fit the character, the wig was chosen as long straight black hair with a slight blue-green gradient, and the blunt bangs and long sideburns on both sides of the cheeks were also trimmed. Makeup-wise, the emphasis was placed on the eye makeup, choosing dark, large-diameter circle lenses to make the eyes look bigger and more spirited. A bit of translucent lip gloss was used on the lips, and some grayish-pink eyeshadow was applied as a base on the lower eyelid to echo the jacket.

When shooting this set of photos, the main prop was a smartphone. The first set of poses was sitting on a chair, body turned sideways to the camera, legs crossed, holding the phone horizontally with both hands while looking down to play games. To express that state of being completely immersed in the game, the body should curl up slightly, and the gaze must be completely glued to the screen. During the shooting, the lighting was quite bright, and the even flat light restored the vibrancy of the pink jacket very well. The strap direction of the yellow messenger bag also happened to guide the vision upwards to the face.

Later, there was a set of actions putting down the phone. Clenching both fists and placing them under the chin, looking at the lens. This action is actually not very easy to master, because if not handled well, it will look overly contrived. My approach was to slightly pull in my elbows, shrug my shoulders a bit, and stare at the lens with an expression that was a bit innocent yet a bit stubborn. Isn't this just the visualization of "if you don't let me play games, I'll just stare at you like this"? To capture this feeling, just the gaze was adjusted repeatedly several times.

In fact, the material of this pink jacket is relatively soft, and it is very prone to wrinkles when sitting down. Therefore, when arranging the clothing, special attention must be paid to pulling the white splicing parts on the sleeves flat to avoid ruining the overall silhouette due to wrinkles. The black pleated skirt is also quite easy to have wardrobe malfunctions when sitting, so the shooting angle and the arrangement of the skirt hem need special attention—showing a little bit of the leg lines under the skirt hem while keeping the frame clean.

The entire set of photos features a pure white background with no complex scenes, relying mainly on the character's expressions and body language to convey emotions. During the shooting breaks, I was indeed seriously playing on my phone, which can be said to be an immersive experience. Compared to those large-scale scenes or heavy-makeup cosplays, this daily, relaxed style actually demands higher expressive power in terms of gaze and posture.

In fact, the makeup trial for this time also took quite a bit of time. Because the character's hair color is black with a dark blue-green tone, shooting against a pure white background makes it very easy for the hair to look too pitch-black and flat. Therefore, in choosing the wig, I specifically looked for a style with a natural gloss, and slightly thinned out the top of the head so that light could pass through, giving the hair a better layering. In terms of action design, it's not just simply spacing out. For those holding the phone, the posture of the fingers is also meticulous: the thumb should naturally rest on the edge of the screen, presenting a state of operating a virtual joystick or clicking skills.

Reviewing the photos after the shoot, I felt that a solid color background really tests the character's body coordination, because there aren't many environmental props to interact with, relying entirely on one's own understanding of the movements. The whole process was about constantly adjusting the angle of the sitting posture, the height of the elbows, and the line of sight looking at the camera. Although it was a bit tiring, the final result told me that this clean and crisp style is worth it. Coupled with the control over the details of this outfit—such as making the white collar turned up more three-dimensionally and rolling up the jacket sleeves to just the right width—all of it was to make the 2D feel in the final image even stronger.

I hope this set of photos can convey an atmosphere that is both daily and retains the character's original temperament. The polishing of every single detail is to get closer to the character herself. Although Misaki might have other sides in the work, this time I chose to showcase that little tsundere and petty temper when she plays on her phone in daily life, hoping to bring a relaxed feeling to those who see this set of photos.
