[Takanashi Hoshino Cosplay] Blue Archive, Refreshing Outfit from the Summer Street Convention's Korean Cafe Collaboration

The official photos for the Korean Cafe collaboration theme from this Guangzhou Firefly Anime Convention are finally organized! Although the weather was extremely hot on the day of the shoot, the chemistry with photographer Teacher Orange Peel (@橘子皮) was perfect. We intentionally decided not to choose the crowded indoor studio setup inside the convention venue, but instead moved to the nearby streets, utilizing a scene with white numbered lockers to create an urban, daily lazy vibe that belongs to the character.

In terms of clothing selection, this collaboration style light blue off-the-shoulder cropped top features a large white collar, and the waist-baring design beautifully accentuates body proportions. The bottom is a matching greyish-blue denim miniskirt, making the overall color scheme refreshing and clean. The pink ring hair accessory on the top of my head is the soul of this styling, which, paired with the long straight pink wig that I meticulously trimmed, not only shapes the face nicely but also displays a beautiful silky texture under natural light. However, the pink wig easily reflects light under strong sunshine, so we had to constantly watch the transition between the reflector and shadows during the shoot to preserve the hair's sense of layers as much as possible.

This time, I wore yellow and blue heterochromatic contact lenses. Compared to a heavy makeup look, I opted for a translucent, elegant base and light-colored lipstick to highlight the character's childish yet calm aura. The shoes are paired with light blue block-heel, square-toe lace-up pumps. The wood-grain heels have both a retro feel and great stability. Although the heels aren't particularly high, constantly adjusting poses on the outdoor stone-paved roads still required some balancing skills. The blue-and-white paper cup used as a prop and the light blue canvas bag slung over my shoulder added many slice-of-life details to the overall cosplay outfit.

For the poses during the shoot, I experimented with four different styles. The one finally selected for the cover is a full-body standing salute photo, with my body leaning against the edge of the lockers, one leg slightly bent, and a playful hand gesture. The composition is complete and showcases the extension of the legs. The other sitting and squatting poses were mainly used to reflect the character's relaxed and clever nature. I have to say, casual cosplay actually places high demands on a 'natural feel' and 'stretch.' Many poses shouldn't just be rigid standing setups, but must be executed very naturally while retaining the character's traits.

In post-processing, I still hoped to retain the real texture and light of the sunlight, avoiding excessive skin smoothing that would destroy the photos' texture. Although there was a small episode of sweating on-site due to the hot weather, shooting this refreshing street style set under the scorching heat made it all feel worth it. This Guangzhou convention trip became much more complete and meaningful because of this Korean Cafe collaboration style record.
