From the moment I got this stage outfit for Hanayo Koizumi, the entire color palette felt filled with the sweetness of early summer.

The outfit heavily features a macaron color scheme—a combination of white, pink, soft yellow, and light green that feels visually refreshing. The upper top adopts a cropped midriff-baring design, featuring white ruffles spliced with pink fabric, plus red crisscross straps on the chest and small golden bells decorating the neckline, making every detail richly layered. The waist is cinched nicely to highlight body curves during shooting.

The skirt part utilizes a tiered cake skirt design. The outer layer is a yellow polka-dot skirt with white dots, while the inner layer splices pink and green pleats, flanked by light green translucent flowing ribbons that move nimbly as I walk. A giant red-and-green color-blocked bow at the waist and a ring of plush trim along the hem greatly enhance visual sweetness.

To match this energetic Idol-style cosplay look, the wig chosen was pigtails with a light brown gradient, with highlighted tips so hair strands refract luster under top lighting. Golden cross-shaped hairpin on the forehead and green ribbon bows on both sides add playful flair. The soft green and white cat ears on top are a touch of genius, adding a subtle animalistic touch to her cute nature.

For makeup, a clear and natural base was chosen because the character's style leans toward sweet and approachable. To highlight lively eyes, I wore pale purple-blue contacts that appear translucent under soft light. Instead of heavy eyeshadow, extremely thin eyeliner was used to enlarge the eyes, paired with well-defined lashes for a clean yet energetic look. Lips were done in a natural soft pink to maintain light sweetness.

On the hand details, white gloves with wave-trimmed edges feature light green and pink colorful pom-poms, looking like kitten paws. While photogenic, it really tested hand pose naturalness; finger joints had to be carefully adjusted so movements looked relaxed rather than stiff.

The lower body styling further reinforced the overall vibe. White over-the-knee socks fit leg lines tightly, framing legs cleanly as part of an Over-the-knee socks outfit. A red thigh strap on the left leg serves as a great visual accent. White platform lace-up boots with metal eyelets and thick laces add a touch of cool neutral flair to the cute look, while making walking and posing in studio easy.

Special thanks to photographer Fashiyangsu-laoshi for this shoot. To match the dreamlike texture of this costume, we chose soft pink and orange intertwined gauze curtains for set decoration, with colorful balloons dotting the floor so the background wouldn't look dull. Softbox lighting created even diffuse reflections, making skin tone and clothes colors translucent with fine texture. Post-production intentionally retained sharpness while adding cross-starlight and hazy bokeh effects, greatly enhancing visual grandeur and giving studio photos the illusion of a live performance stage.

To capture vivid motion during shooting, I tried many playful poses. For example, making cat paws with both hands beside cheeks while looking directly into the camera to project vibrant energy. Single-leg standing poses tested core strength because the fluffy skirt and platform boots were heavy; to balance while keeping the skirt fluttering naturally, I adjusted my center of gravity several times to capture the ideal frame.

Another minor hurdle to overcome while wearing this costume was managing and maintaining the wig. During long shoots with makeup, hair strands can easily get frizzy, so I carefully combed the hair direction with hairspray before shooting to keep the pigtails fluffy and smooth. Since the top is cropped, I also paid special attention to maintaining tummy lines before the shoot. Though it took effort, seeing my energetic self in front of the lens made all the hard work worth it.

Every cosplay attempt is a process of immersing oneself in the character's charm. This dress-up is not merely a physical transformation, but a deep chance to experience the character's personality and story. Materializing the beautiful colors of school idols through the lens and character styling is immensely fulfilling.
