[Cifera Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: "Truth" and Lies Standing at the Convention

Wearing this outfit for Cifera Cosplay at the convention was actually much more of a test of stamina and patience than I imagined. The most eye-catching part of the entire costume is definitely this blue-and-black hood with cat-eared elements, alongside the iconic blue orb pauldron on the shoulder. The cut of the black leather top fits the body snugly, and paired with those golden clawed gloves, striking even subtle gripping or stretching gestures during the shoot easily brought out her clever cunning and aggressive edge.

For these Convention photos, we experimented with several different camera angles to showcase the layered details of this costume. Beyond regular standing snapshots, we specially used outdoor benches at the venue for some seated poses. Angles like stretching my legs while leaning against the bench beautifully highlighted the texture of the golden boots, with the blue high heels and claw mark details on the soles looking especially clear under sunlight. The boot leather is somewhat stiff; while it maintains a sharp upright stance when standing, walking around for half a day definitely requires adjustment. To recreate Cifera's complex aura of "wrapping herself in lies," I intentionally restrained my smile in facial expressions, maintaining a gaze that seemed to see through everything with a touch of playful mockery. Paired with short silver-gray hair and bright blue contact lenses, the overall visual impact was quite striking.

Lighting at the convention venue was actually quite complex, especially in an environment blending natural sunlight with artificial fill light. To capture clean side profile shots and that dynamic low-angle perspective, the photographer continuously adjusted light positions throughout, while dodging frequent passersby in the background. The dramatic low-angle shot in Photo 3 was really interesting; though the camera was almost pressed up against the shoe soles, it visually stretched the character's aggressive posture and lower body lines significantly. From a player's perspective, this high-impact composition with intentional visual shift is far more engaging and memorable than a conventional full-body shot.

Looking back at these photos, I am most satisfied with the sets of standing and seated poses. Outfits with this subtle fantasy-mecha style often yield better results in outdoor environments than in pure indoor studios; natural light hitting those sapphire-like faux gem components refracts a beautiful layered shine. The details across the outfit are maxed out, from metal buckles on the hem to textures inside the shoulder pauldrons, showing how much heart my tailor friend poured into it. Wearing such attire at a convention, the greatest sense of fulfillment comes not from how many compliments I receive, but from delivering the character's self-consistency and physical presence before the lens. For posing design, I referenced stretching motions from in-game art and fan illustrations, ensuring every hand gesture felt fluid and natural. Exhausting and sweaty as the day was, seeing the final output made every effort feel completely worth it.
