Just as the caption goes, even though the bunny ear headband was a gift from a friend, my original character concept was already a little bunny. With the props in place, rolling with a bunny girl theme came naturally. This outfit belongs to the Malymoon-style "masculine bunny" series; while the name sounds somewhat tough, the tailoring and accents seamlessly fuse classic maid uniform elements with iconic Bunny girl features. The primary black-and-white check fabric paired with a white lace neckline, ruffled apron, and white lace gloves conveys vintage sweetness laced with a whisper of mischief.
I devoted meticulous thought to coordinating the details. On the face, I wore delicate metal round-frame glasses with soft pink-tinted lenses, channeling that Meganekko balance of bookish intellect and anime cuteness. The bunny ears on the headband were intentionally angled asymmetrically—the left ear flopped down in a natural fold, appearing far more lively and dynamic before the camera than rigid symmetrical ears.
For the lower half, I opted for sheer Black stockings and glossy black patent leather platform high heels. Because the upper skirt is voluminous and laden with layered lace and pleated check patterns, extending the vertical line of the legs was essential. The semi-translucent texture of the black hosiery paired with the crisp reflections of the heels visually elongated my proportions. The crouching stance heavily tested core stability: to project an agile yet taut presence before the lens, I anchored my weight onto the right foot, angling the left leg slightly while gently raising my arm to graze the rim of my spectacles, letting the other hand rest casually along my thigh. This framing maintained dynamic compositional tension while cleanly highlighting the garment textures and body lines.
The studio lighting was pristine, neutral white daylight. The photographer, Lu Kequan, skillfully leveraged the seamless white background to isolate the subject. Because black-and-white check is an intricate pattern, a busy backdrop would swallow the costume's subtleties, making a pure white cyc wall the cleanest choice. To match the attitude, I exercised restraint in facial expressions, avoiding overly sweet smiles in favor of steady eye contact behind the lenses, radiating calm aloofness with a touch of playful tsundere pride. This ensemble shines not only in studio portraiture, but would stand out vibrantly on convention hall floors. Although heavily layered, the swaying movement of the skirt and headband in motion brings vivid kinetic energy. All in all, this rendition of a monochrome check rabbit maid was a deeply satisfying shoot, leaving me excited for further creative directions with this bunny concept.
