[Formidable cosplay] Azur Lane Bunny Girl, A Studio Photoshoot Log of Intertwined Sweetness and Coolness

For this shoot, I chose the bunny girl look of Formidable from Azur Lane, striving to present her cute trait with a slight gap charm in the studio shoot. To match the character's features, I wore a light golden long straight wig with straight bangs and styled hair on both sides, which faithfully recreates the original design. For the eye makeup, I specially wore red contact lenses paired with glitter under the eyes, allowing my gaze to convey an innocent yet mysterious feeling in front of the camera.

In terms of costume, what satisfied me the most was this black-and-white color scheme design. The bunny ears on top are fluffy, and the black-and-white color blocking tempers the purely cute atmosphere, adding a touch of gothic cool. The black lace choker at the neckline with a gold bell pendant serves as a finishing touch, with the bell lightly swaying as I move. The white transparent mesh sleeves on the arms were also thoughtfully designed, featuring black and white lace-up straps at the cuffs that blend cuteness with techwear vibes. On the lower body, black shorts paired with black hip-hugging stockings and a pair of white platform high heels visually elongate the proportions of the lower body.

This shoot took place in a dedicated indoor studio with a white plush rug underfoot, soft to step on and perfect for sitting or lying compositions. The backdrop featured white Roman pillars, a black wooden crisscross rack, complemented by blue-and-white floral arrangements and blue gauze drapes. The overall set was dominated by cool tones, perfectly complementing the black-and-white bunny girl outfit and giving the final photos a naturally cool ambiance.

Regarding poses, we tried various angles to interpret the character's temperament. The first photo is a forward-leaning sitting pose, with a low camera angle framed right at the feet in black stockings, highlighting the layering of the outfit while seated and the details of the feet. The second photo shows me lying prone directly on the rug, supporting myself with hands on the ground while looking up at the camera, completely capturing the white mesh sleeves and collar line while making my gaze feel more approachable. The third photo is a full-body shot I'm quite happy with: sitting on a white round pedestal with legs crossed, hands raised near my ears making playful bunny ears, full of youthful charm. The fourth photo is a standing pose with one leg slightly lifted, leaning slightly forward, and reaching out toward the camera; this perspective composition provides strong visual guidance. The last photo adopts an inverted perspective, lying backward on a mirror with legs raised upward, breaking conventional compositions to add fun and dramatic impact.

As for the black and white censor bars on the final photos, those were post-processing edits made for specific publishing requirements. Due to lighting angle issues on site, certain photos had exposure flaws or edge imperfections that needed masking, and the format of these censor bars happened to provide a design feel akin to magazine layouts, giving the images a touch of 2D flat aesthetic.

Regarding character portrayal, Formidable herself is a very nuanced character—she isn't just purely cute, but also possesses a distinct tsundere temperament. Therefore, in terms of facial expression control, I didn't smile exaggeratedly, but tried to maintain a natural look. Combined with the visual focus brought by the red eyeshadow, I aimed to convey a fresh and sweet without being cloying vibe. I was really happy with this shoot; collaborating with the photographer sparked so many different styles, and I experienced the gap-moe charm brought by the contact lenses and fluffy bunny ears. Although posing in high heels on the soft rug was prone to slipping, it was all worth it to capture great compositions.
