[Marin Kitagawa Cosplay] The Cool Summer Vibe of Chimelong Water Park

This shoot at Chimelong Water Park was actually a very casual record. It happened to coincide with the venue's Chimelong Water Fashion Season and the anime summer water festival, so the entire water park was immersed in that dopamine-bursting summer atmosphere. I didn't deliberately try to avoid the bustling crowds, but rather felt that this kind of background filled with real-life vitality gives these cosplay photography photos a more grounded energy.

Regarding this outfit coordination, I chose a combination that perfectly matches the summer pool and water park theme. The upper body features a loose white short-sleeved midriff-baring shirt with a knot tied right in front at the hem, which beautifully highlights the waistline while carrying a casual, unconstrained vibe. Inside, I wore a black-and-white polka dot bikini, using the white shirt as a sun-protection outer layer to add both practicality and layers. The black choker at the neckline is the finishing touch, perfectly drawing the eyes to the neck and adding refinement to the overall look. For the lower body, I selected a pair of distressed blue denim ultra-short shorts with some ripped holes and frayed edges, which, when paired with the crisp white shirt, creates a highly natural holiday style. A black crisscross strap was also tied around the waist, which avoids monotony while visually helping to shape better body proportions.

The hairstyle was also a crucial part of the overall look. Since it was a long outdoor shoot, the wig needed to be a style that was highly form-fitting yet breathable. The golden hair with straight bangs and a pink gradient at the tips displays very soft light and shadow layers under the intense direct summer sunlight. Paired with this beige straw sun hat on my head, whose brim was specially decorated with white lace and semi-sheer white mesh, it creates a highly romantic maiden feel.

For the makeup treatment, I particularly emphasized the colors around the eyes, using reddish and pink-toned eyeshadows to echo the hair color and the cute temperament of the overall outfit. The lip makeup chose a highly saturated red color to make the facial features appear more three-dimensional under the bright outdoor light. Additionally, to embellish the overall style, I wore a simple small-grain pearl bracelet on my right wrist; though tiny, these details often elevate the completion level of a cosplay work.

The shooting locations mainly focused on the park's wooden picnic tables and chairs, as well as the metal railings by the pool. I personally love the rugged texture that comes with wooden furniture, which forms a relaxed clash when placed together with this cool, casual water park outfit. I didn't deliberately force any stiff poses during the shoot; I just sat naturally on the edge of a chair or looked back at the camera like I would in daily life. To find a better angle and a more relaxed state, many times I walked completely barefoot on the wooden benches or the steps of the pool. That feeling of the soles of my feet contacting the slightly warm stone and wooden surfaces after being baked in the summer sun made the entire shooting process even more vivid.

In the shot taken by the poolside, I held onto the metal railings with the massive blue pool and splashing crowds behind me. The blur effect of the wide-aperture lens turned the people and colorful facilities in the background into beautiful light spots and water reflections. Pressing the shutter in such an environment makes it very easy to capture relaxed and natural moments. Even with many passersby, most people were immersed in their own summer vacations and didn't bother our shoot too much, so the overall photography atmosphere was very relaxed and free.

Regarding post-processing, because I wanted to present a translucent, refreshing summer feel overall, I made some minor adjustments to the color tones, preserving the original colors of the water surface and plants to make them look more saturated while moderately brightening the exposure on the face. This allows a healthy skin texture to show through under outdoor light. Although the watermark is at the bottom, it is also a part of the original image.

This time, instead of choosing the exquisite layouts of a studio shoot, we walked into a real water park. Even without artificial lighting, the abundant natural outdoor light was the best light source, and the translucent quality of the unedited photos was already satisfying enough. In fact, for location cosplay, the choice of site and lighting is often more piercing than complex props. I hope everyone can also feel this cool and energetic summer vibe.
