This time, I shot on-location photos for Aemeath Cosplay from Wuthering Waves in Ikebukuro. I arrived early in the morning at the dressing room near the shoot location. The pink wig was quite long, requiring some time to style the bangs and sidelocks. The costume design has many details—the blue star ornament on the chest features wing elements, and there are gold accessories at the waist, requiring careful adjustment during wear to prevent wardrobe malfunctions or misplaced accessories. The prop microphone has a sensor light at the bottom; when aimed directly toward the camera during shooting, it creates a nice reflective glow, though the light intensity had to be controlled carefully.
The shooting location was chosen around an architectural outdoor setting near Ikebukuro, surrounded by railings and a rooftop-like terrace. Since the lighting was relatively dim, the photographer's composition primarily utilized background blur to make the foreground pop. Although the outdoor environment was somewhat complex with many passersby, the shooting process went quite smoothly as a piece of Japanese cosplay Outdoor photography. To complement the character's musical theme, pink notes and stardust effects were added around the image in post-production to make the visuals more dynamic.
The main goal this time was to recreate the character's dreamy, ethereal aura. Since the lower half features a short skirt with a slit-like design, movement range required extra caution during the shoot. For posing, the front-facing outstretched-hand composition in photo 2 showcased the overall costume proportions and leg lines much better, making it the top choice for the cover. Every time I wear this costume, I have a different feeling, and this shooting experience in Ikebukuro was exceptionally fulfilling. The fabric is mostly structured and stiff; although slightly restrictive, wearing it takes some getting used to in order to maintain a sharp, three-dimensional silhouette. On set, when adjusting the microphone grip angle, I repeatedly refined the arm extension. Overall, the resulting shots turned out very impactful, and the visual effect of swirling notes met all expectations. During retouching, I focused on fine-tuning color tones to enhance the warm-cold contrast between pink and blue, aiming to deliver a dazzling stage presence beyond raw camera output.
