[Sigrika cosplay] Magical Girl Amidst the starry sea of flowers in Wuthering Waves

This Wuthering Waves Sigrika cosplay photo set is finally here for everyone to see! Pre-production took about two months, with numerous revisions ranging from pattern fitting to fabric selection. The purple-and-white off-the-shoulder design feels refreshing visually, but to faithfully recreate the lively dynamic from the original art, I used grid-textured materials and geometric accents around the sleeves and waistline, preserving the 2D aesthetic while enhancing textural depth. Crafting the headdress and wig took considerable thought as well; to keep the orange braided pigtails looking natural under studio lights and during movement, I carefully styled and fixed the strands, using hidden bobby pins along the seams so no seams would show even in extreme close-ups.

The set design was inspired by blending a starry sky with a starry sea of flowers. We pre-assembled an enormous crescent-shaped floral arch covered in pink, white, and blue roses and lisianthus, laid over a bed of moss and white coral-like branches. To build the ambiance, we used abundant warm-toned side lighting on the subject against a deep navy starry backdrop, creating a striking contrast between warm and cool tones. During the actual shoot, however, the floral arch's weight-bearing limit posed quite a challenge; to maintain a balanced sitting pose with an airy, floating feel, I had to continuously engage my core out of the camera's frame while minding the drape of my skirt to prevent creasing from spoiling the line.

The crescent pillow printed with gear patterns that I held was one of my favorite props. Posing with it—holding, lifting, and interacting with an orange—meant continually adjusting arm angles so the prop never looked overly bulky in frame. Striking seated and mid-air floating poses on the flower arch while wearing intricate lace-up sandals really tested my balance, especially with ankle wraps that became tiring over long periods. Still, the final photos proved every bit of effort was worth it. For that shot where I hold an orange in one hand and rest the other on my knee, we tested dozens of angles, tweaking the chin elevation and eye line to capture the most natural skyward gaze under the best lighting highlights.

Throughout the shoot, the purple fabric tended to create glare under intense lighting, so we utilized softboxes and angled reflectors to accentuate garment folds and natural textures. Post-processing also took plenty of effort—removing backstage support stands along the edges and adding glowing magical dust and starlight particles to imbue the scene with magical wonder. In terms of posing, I incorporated moments of reading, daydreaming, and gazing into the distance to weave a narrative into the stills. As a brand-new endeavor, a lot of dedication went into color grading and lighting depth. Through this photo set, I hope to record this character's quiet, cozy moment in the starry sea of flowers, while continuing my pursuit of craftsmanship to deliver even more refined works in future projects.
