"Bringing all the memories of the galaxy to a date with time"—this copy perfectly fits the original intention of this shoot.
Since these are convention photos, I'll use this theme to chat about the makeup, styling details, and shooting experience of this work. The character I cosplayed this time places great emphasis on layering in its costume design; the main skirt hem is pure white, with the lower hem gradually transitioning into a blue-and-purple gradient, giving it a soft texture. The large gemstone on the chest and the light purple textured patches reflect a highly dreamy glow under natural outdoor light. To present visual unity, I deliberately styled my hair into a pink-to-white gradient look, paired with pointed elf ears props and purplish-red colored contact lenses, concentrating the entire face's color focus on the eyes.
The foot traffic around the convention venue on the day of the shoot was actually quite heavy, so after consulting with the photographer Yumi-miao, we chose a street on the outer perimeter of the venue for the location. Although the background includes real street architecture, green trees, and distant vehicles, the shallow depth of field from a wide aperture softened all the cluttered elements. The most eye-catching parts are actually the halo on top of my head and that light blue flower ornament. To cope with the outdoor breeze and ensure wearing stability, multiple fixing treatments were done inside the wig.
The magic book in my hand wasn't light, so during the shoot, I needed to constantly adjust the angle of my arms, both to make the magic circle pattern on the book cover reflect its luster and to prevent the pose from looking stiff. We tried various angles including sitting, standing, and lifting the book. Since it was a bright daytime outdoor shoot, the overall tone was handled very refreshingly by the photographer, with a translucent, breathable feel without being intentionally darkened or oversaturated.
Such a styling composed of elf elements, a magic book, and lightweight clothing recreated that exquisite fantasy feel on the streets. Although the shooting process required continuous adjustments to poses and expressions to deal with the harsh light, the final result makes me feel that all the preparations were completely worth it.
