For this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu bunny girl shoot, the focus was placed on garment texture and the charming contrast within her character personality. Koharu's design naturally carries that endearing quality of being easily flustered yet stubbornly pushing forward anyway; slipping into a white bunny girl suit made that contrast even sharper. While prep time for this set wasn't exceptionally long, we spent considerable effort adjusting wardrobe details beforehand.
Starting with the costume itself: the centerpiece is a tight white bodysuit crafted from a distinctive fabric with a noticeable surface sheen. This meant lighting required extra caution around highlight placement to prevent blown-out reflections from swallowing the garment's natural creases and contours. The white bow on the chest and the separate arm sleeves are detachable accessories; the black straps on the sleeves and the small black wings on her back served as striking accents, creating a sharp color contrast against her pink-and-white hair. I slightly angled the bunny ear headband so the ears didn't look overly stiff or symmetrical.
For the lower half, I paired white stockings with strappy garter rings. The straps on the garters needed precise adjustment—snug enough to keep the stockings from sliding down, but not so tight as to uncomfortably pinch into the skin. When shooting seated on chairs and white cylindrical plinths, these poses put high demands on leg lines. Controlling bounce off the seamless paper was key, so I asked the gaffer to raise the key light slightly and use a softbox from an overhead-side angle, preserving natural shadow contours across my face. When posing, to match Koharu's shy in-game disposition, I avoided bold, extroverted stances and favored subtle, reserved gestures—twirling hair tips, extending both hands forward, or partially hiding behind an artbook. Eye contact was equally critical; it had to feel responsive and communicative rather than blankly zoned out.
Reviewing test shots on the camera monitor during breaks confirmed that the overall atmosphere was right on track. Because heels quickly become tiring whether standing or sitting for extended periods, every pose transition required smoothing down the socks and garment hems to keep fabric from bunching or shifting askew. Judging by the final results, the pink backdrop harmonizing with the bunny girl styling—punctuated by the white stockings and strappy garters—achieved the visual fidelity I had envisioned. The color harmony was remarkably unified, ensuring the character never got swallowed by the background.
