[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Wonderful Holiday Magazine-Style Shoot

This time, collaborating with photographer @鯊魚辣椒, I tried shooting this Magazine-style cosplay of Cyrene. The overarching concept aimed to convey the relaxed, breezy vibe of a Wonderful holiday, which led us to choose soft light blue as the dominant tone. Studio lighting was kept bright and soft with lowered contrast, steering the palette toward pastel macaron hues to accentuate a dreamy atmosphere.

For hair and makeup, to match the editorial texture of a magazine spread, the foundation was applied with a sheer, translucent finish, while the eye makeup focused on defining contours. Paired with purple contact lenses and dense lashes, it gave my gaze a sharper focal presence before the lens. The pink wig was given a subtle gradient fading into white tips, and delicate braids framing the cheeks added a playful touch. An elongated light-blue barrette was clipped near the temple, topped with a blue-grey knit beanie and pointed elf ear props to infuse a hint of fantasy into the ensemble.

Regarding the outfit, the base layer was a fitted white cropped tank top trimmed with a vivid bright pink border at the neckline, with red typographic lettering across the chest breaking up the plain white base. Over this, I layered a semi-sheer, holographic laser-textured long-sleeve jacket paneled with blue stripes along the cuffs and hems. This material produced holographic iridescence under studio strobes, making it incredibly photogenic. The bottom was paired with a blue striped skirt, off-white knit leg warmers, and white sneakers, blending together into an energetic 2D anime aesthetic. The silver heart-shaped rhinestone necklace around my neck served as the crowning touch, adding refined sparkle along the collarbone.

The set styling was thoughtfully arranged as well. The backdrop was draped with cascading holographic hanging garlands shaped like stars and discs, refracting shifting sheens with every subtle angle change. Props included pink and white heart balloons alongside an oversized blue plush star pillow, which greatly enriched the visual depth of the scene. Cradling a winged pink magic bunny plushie and interacting with a pink lollipop helped ease any stiffness in front of the camera. In terms of posing direction, I rotated through kneeling, seated, and prone poses—such as kneeling on one knee with a slight torso lean, or sitting cross-legged on the floor, using forward leans to break visual symmetry and boost dynamic tension.

Many compositions placed the subject dead center, utilizing floor perspective and background props to fill the frame naturally. Editorial magazine shoots require more than just piling on wardrobe and props; more crucially, they hinge on commanding eye contact and effortless body language. One must project the character's innate cuteness while maintaining the effortless composure demanded by fashion editorials. The team worked with flawless synergy throughout—from lighting design to the shutter clicks, every step sought to seize the most authentic moment, and the final colors and textures lived up to every expectation.
