[Cyrene Cosplay] Ripples of Omphalos: Honkai: Star Rail Character Recreation

This set of Honkai: Star Rail Cyrene Cosplay photos was shot and produced on a sun-drenched afternoon. Trying out pure natural light for Outdoor cosplay photography this time, a lot of effort went into everything from makeup styling to prop preparation to embody the divine yet mysterious temperament of Omphalos Chrysos Heirs. Costume accuracy served as the cornerstone of this shoot: the inner white off-the-shoulder top paired with a violet drop-shoulder jacket created a bold color contrast. The sleeve cuffs of the jacket featured attached black ribbons with rune patterns; to ensure the ribbons draped or fluttered naturally during the shoot, I added fixed support wires inside. The striking brown leather belt at the waist and the gold-and-blue starburst belt buckle served as the visual focal point of the outfit—I spent a long time searching for matching materials for this accessory. The gray-white water-ripple jacquard patterns on the skirt hem revealed delicate layers under the sunlight, and combined with white crisscross leg wraps and gold metallic leg rings on my calves, the overall look visually constructed an atmosphere woven with vintage and fantasy elements.

The key prop for this shoot was the white crescent staff. The prop itself was custom 3D-printed by a studio; considering the feel in hand, internal weight distribution was specially adjusted so it stays balanced without dropping when held with one hand. Outdoor shooting indeed involves many uncontrollable factors, especially bright noon sunlight that casts harsh shadows on the face. Fortunately, photographer @咕咕摸鱼怪（快门版） did multiple test shots with aperture and shutter speed, softening facial light and shadows by adjusting shooting angles and utilizing tree shade while retaining natural highlights, making the subject look more three-dimensional and natural.

In terms of pose design, I tried my best to align with Cyrene's serene yet powerful presence. In the first photo, standing sideways holding the staff with the skirt falling naturally showcased the overall silhouette of the outfit. In the second photo, I lifted my right arm slightly; though a subtle movement, this posture allowed the runic ribbons on the cuffs to float naturally in the gentle breeze, adding dynamic energy to the frame. The biggest challenge of shooting outdoors was actually the temperature—while the outfit looks airy, its multiple layers proved stuffy in hot weather, requiring several makeup touch-ups mid-shoot. Although it was physically demanding, seeing the final shots made all exhaustion melt away; those captured natural expressions were truly invaluable.

The location was chosen near outdoor steps and greenery, avoiding overly complex urban backgrounds so the character could be highlighted to the greatest extent, concentrating visual focus on upper costume details, facial expressions, and hand props. In that frozen moment, I hoped to convey the worldview texture of Omphalos. I'm not a cosplayer who makes dramatic movements, so I prefer using gaze and subtle body language to interpret characters, relaxing as much as possible before the lens and working with the photographer's guidance to capture subtle atmospheres. After this shoot, I gained even deeper empathy for the character. Recreating a character is truly a pursuit that demands patience and passion, and I hope this carefully presented photo set conveys my understanding of the character and work to everyone.
