[Tohsaka Rin cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Crossover Version CD30 Photo Record

The CD30 convention has finally come to a close. The work I brought this time was Tohsaka Rin from the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate crossover version. I had previously seen reviews saying this crossover design carried a strong tech-chic and modern techwear vibe, and receiving the actual costume confirmed that. The red-and-black color-blocked leather jacket has a very crisp structure, paired with a glossy black strap choker, an obsidian-like heart pendant, black stockings, and a white hem, making the overall visual effect very sharp and clean. This time, I specially wore blue contact lenses to restore Rin's confident and slightly tsundere gaze.

While flipping through my album, I suddenly came across the fifth picture, which was my very first Tohsaka Rin cosplay in 2020. Looking back now, the wig styling back then was truly unsightly—the bangs were as thick as a pot lid and the tips were messy and frizzy. Six years have passed, and now I've made huge progress in wig trimming, eye makeup contouring, and finding camera angles, witnessing my own growth over quite a long period.

However, the venue experience at CD30 this time was truly hard to describe in a good way. Shanghai in June is awfully hot and muggy; the indoor air conditioning felt like a mere decoration. Walking around in this leather jacket for a short while had me drenched in sweat, feeling like I was being steamed alive. What was even more frustrating was the mobile phone signal inside the hall—it was insanely poor. Even standing right in front of the fan booths, the payment QR code just wouldn't load. In the end, I had to awkwardly hand my phone to the booth vendor, staring at each other for quite a while before barely completing the transaction with cash or other means. Looking back now, it's both hilarious and helpless, with signal quality even worse than similar conventions last year.

Nevertheless, the fan culture atmosphere inside the hall was still magical. I spent about an hour and a half browsing through HoYoverse Street, looking at the fan merch meticulously designed by artists—from badges and acrylic standees to detailed transparent cards and keychains, the aesthetic of every piece of fan merch hit the spot. The items on the table in Figure 3 are part of my haul, including a pink series package and a black tote bag. Holding surrounding merchandise of favorite characters in hand and appreciating them brings an irreplaceable joy.

When taking these Convention photos, it was already after leaving the main hall. Finding a wall nearby to rest, the light became softer and the crowding of the venue was gone, giving me a perfect chance to record the full look of this outfit during my Cosplay daily life. Although the location was brutally hot and communications were awful, the atmosphere of immersively experiencing anime culture offline and meeting fellow enthusiasts was truly exhilarating. So despite complaining endlessly about the venue experience, I bet I won't be able to resist going again next time—that's probably the love-hate appeal of it all.
