These Convention photos from the AW convention will very likely be my final convention shoot. I cosplayed Tribbie from Honkai: Star Rail. Early preparations took a significant amount of time for this shoot: the red wig was cut into distinct layers, paired with its natural ahoge cowlick, elf ears, and a floral wreath headpiece; the overall fidelity of the look was one of the most satisfying achievements I've had. The costume features a white base with gold trim, multiple tiers of ruffles along the skirt hem, finely crafted asymmetric detached sleeves and boots, complemented by a golden apple prop held in hand.

The foot traffic at the Beijing Anime Convention that day was enormous, but I'm deeply grateful to photographer 蓝桥神灯. This time we used the Sony A7C2 paired with the 50mm F1.2 GM lens. To produce clean background blur and make the character pop within the bustling event venue, the photographer invested heavily in lighting and composition. The backlight effect seen in Photo 2 and Photo 4 was actually achieved on site with fill lights; the warm yellow light washing over the hair strands and white skirt hem created edge rim lighting that instantly separated the subject from the background, evoking a remarkably luminous texture. The 50mm focal length is exceptionally well-suited for indoor convention halls, taking in ample light while retaining sufficient depth of field to crisply capture the jacquard patterns, gold trim, and floral accents of the costume.

Because this costume includes wing props, movement was quite restricted during shooting. I couldn't lean back heavily, so we relied mostly on seated and kneeling poses to find flattering angles. For example, in the shot sitting on the folding ladder, keeping core balance engaged was essential while simultaneously ensuring leg lines and arm postures remained graceful. For the pose lying on the carpet, angling my calves up without looking stiff required several trial adjustments. Cosplay is never just about wearing clothes; it demands mastering the physical restrictions brought by props and garments while sustaining the character's demeanor before the lens.

Lighting in the hall was on the dimmer side, and it was thanks to fill lights and the excellent high-ISO performance of the camera gear that we secured a high yield of usable frames. Behind every set of Convention photos are heavy bags of outfits and props, which along with the crowded environment leads to massive physical exhaustion. But fueled by genuine passion, the whole process felt wonderfully motivating.

Sorting through these photos today and looking at myself captured in frame, every bit of preparation and fatigue feels worthwhile. The light and shadow, the costume details, and the creative sparks forged on site with the photographer were all preserved in full. Serving as my final convention shoot, it draws a beautifully complete period to my Anime-style photography journey. Packing away all the garments and props, these memories will stay with me forever.
