[Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Hoshimi Miyabi: Mirror Fitting of the Combatant

After changing into this Zenless Zone Zero Hoshimi Miyabi cosplay outfit, I spent a long time testing poses in front of the mirror, capturing these three mirror selfies on my phone within the same session. When posting previously, I joked that my poses looked too "robotic"—it was truly my first time cosplaying a character wielding a polearm weapon, and my mind clearly struggled to coordinate my hands and legs while posing. Even so, the inherent badass feel of the outfit held the visual impact together, which was quite reassuring.

The outfit features rich layering: the base white collared shirt and black tie are classic uniform staples, while the cropped blue outer jacket boasts great texture, with yellow piping along the edges and black shoulder strap details giving the entire silhouette a sharp, crisp profile. The black pleated skirt on the lower body has a moderate length with clean drape; paired with a Black tights outfit, it visually elongates the leg lines. The gloves and black arm guards are crafted with great attention to detail, accented with red cord wraps that add visual variety to arm movements.

Speaking of props, this black polearm carries substantial weight and a tough, solid texture in hand, while its red and orange accents catch indoor ambient light with great reflections. As a female cosplayer, holding this polearm steady with one hand took quite some effort; I shifted gripping angles repeatedly during the session to maintain balance while striving for natural poses.

The massive pair of pointed black animal ears on the head is visually striking and instantly recognizable; paired with straight black hair, they further heighten the character's mysterious, aloof aura. I deliberately chose to take mirror selfies at home to document the raw fitting state right after receiving the costume. The soft indoor natural light brought out the color details of the garments authentically, while the mirrored setting cultivated a clean, minimalist ambiance.

Regarding the shoes, as mentioned in the description, it was indeed a notable oversight in my preparation. While standing barefoot on the plush white rug felt very comfortable, it admittedly lacked a sense of visual completeness. Footwear has already been added to my must-bring checklist for the upcoming on-location shoot. For combat-styled outfits like this, pairing them with the proper boots will definitely elevate the overall presence. When portraying sharp, capable female characters, I prioritize balancing costume comfort with accuracy. The tailored cut accommodates body proportions comfortably without feeling restrictive, giving me greater confidence for future outdoor location shoots.

Although mirror selfies are limited in framing, they offer an authentic, candid record. Without needing a professional photography crew or complex lighting setups, one can complete a styling test in spare moments. Even though mirror shots capture ambient reflections and minor distortions, contrasting this grounded presentation with the character's badass demeanor creates a distinct, unique charm. Sorting through these photos, I realized that even without elaborate backdrops, as long as the costume and prop foundations are solid, the character's spirit and presence stand firm.

This straightforward fitting log felt genuinely fulfilling; preparing every component from garments to props made the character tangible. Next, I plan to scout an outdoor location with a gritty industrial atmosphere, put on the proper boots, and capture a formal set of photos to showcase this character's unique 2D charm even better.
