Preparing this look for Hsin took longer than anticipated, with wig styling alone taking nearly three hours. The character design from Wuthering Waves is brimming with intricate details, such as the black-to-white gradient furry ears and tail, alongside crimson body markings and gem ornaments; recreating these textures required extensive coordination with the costume maker beforehand. For the shoot, we chose Taotao Photography Studio, where the set was arranged with red maples, a luminous full moon, a wooden pavilion, and a guqin—instantly hitting the exact mood the moment I stepped inside. In terms of makeup, the focus was placed on crimson eye blending and the forehead sigil, which, paired with red contact lenses, aimed to channel a mysterious yet languid presence.
To showcase the natural movement of the tail during shooting, I experimented with numerous seated and reclining poses. The side-lying posture in photo 3 was especially demanding, as balancing the tail's curve while keeping body lines gracefully extended strained my lower back. The reflection beside the water pool in photo 4 also took considerable patience on set, waiting for the smoke and lighting to align perfectly; the surface reflection combined with the warm lantern glow elevated the ambiance to another level. While physically taxing, seeing the final images made every bit of effort worthwhile.
The crew for this shoot was exceptionally professional. The gaffer's control over rim lighting and backlighting was pinpoint accurate, allowing me to fully immerse myself before the lens. Whenever cosplaying a fantasy-themed Anime cosplay character, I continuously ponder their inner temperament, striving to project their aura through eye contact and physical poise rather than merely wearing the costume. I hope everyone can feel both the serenity and the vivid spirit within this set.
