[Vivian cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Elegance and Depth, Facial Expression Recreation Challenge

The core focus of this shoot was faithfully recreating Vivian's nuanced facial expressions across different states, mastering the character's temperament through the synergy of eye contact and body language. Before shooting, the photographer and I discussed lighting extensively, ultimately selecting a purple backdrop to complement this Silver-purple hairstyle wig with gradient tones. For hair and makeup, the lower eyelid contours were deliberately accentuated to make the red eyes appear more expressive and animated, while the angle of the Elf ear cosplay props was adjusted repeatedly to ensure it wouldn't disrupt facial framing from a front-facing perspective. The overall makeup was kept clean without heavy contouring, relying mainly on strategic highlighters to enhance skin translucency. The garment's neckline design is relatively intricate; positioning the bow and gemstone brooch took some time, and the wide ruffled sleeves easily obscured body lines during poses, so we constantly fine-tuned hand placement during candid captures.

To capture that elusive, coolly alluring aura, the first photo features hands clasped in front of the mouth with a slightly lowered gaze, appearing reserved yet mysterious. The second photo has clenched fists beside the cheeks, highlighting an endearing contrast of cuteness. The third photo shows fingertips touching the temple with an unwavering gaze fixed directly at the camera, tightening the jawline to evoke an aloof, composed presence. These three frames showcase distinct facets of the character. Because this shoot didn't feature stockings or full-body leg postures, visual attention was concentrated entirely on facial expressions and manual body language. For the base makeup, I chose a semi-matte texture, paired with elongated winged eyeliner at the outer corners and shimmering pearlescent accents dotted along the aegyo-sal, creating a refined look in front of the lens. The lipstick was a vintage retro red; applying it sheerly kept the edges soft and natural. During shooting, I relaxed my facial muscles as much as possible to avoid eye shape distortion caused by tension.

While framing the third photo, crossing the arms helped emphasize a petite shoulder profile while harmonizing with the costume's waist-cinching silhouette, keeping the visual balance grounded rather than flimsy. Post-production retouching avoided heavy liquification, primarily preserving natural bone structure shadows while refining flyaway hair edges and backdrop color gradients. Capturing the character's slightly detached aura through this cool-toned, high-end facial composure required deliberate control of eye blinks and gazes. However, because costume layering and makeup luminosity were thoroughly addressed during pre-production, almost no adjustments to facial features were needed in post-processing. I am very satisfied with this Anime cosplay set and thoroughly enjoyed this immersive journey of character recreation.
