The photo shoot happened to catch a rainy night, and the puddles on the ground gave the entire scene richer texture. For Genshin Impact cosplay and Honkai: Star Rail cosplay, this atmospheric ambient lighting was the perfect backdrop. We were initially worried that the rain would disrupt our plans, but the resulting mood and atmosphere turned out to be an unexpected, pleasant surprise. This time, I mainly presented Kamisato Ayaka cosplay; the look with the black dress and short cut showcasing leg lines was truly a test of capturing a cool, elegant aura. When taking duo shots with Kamisato Ayato cosplay, we spent a lot of effort refining how we held the umbrellas and matched our eye contact. Photo 2 was taken on a vintage staircase, where the photographer specifically chose a wide-angle perspective to elongate leg lines while keeping both of us centered and balanced, resulting in fantastic visual presence. Later on, Honkai: Star Rail's Robin cosplay and Sunday Cosplay joined in. Having two pairs of HoYoverse siblings cross dimensions instantly made the set lively. Robin's high-slit gown and white roses held immense presence; the four of us held umbrellas in the rain for a group photo in pairs of two, and that surreal cross-universe vibe came out looking truly wonderful. To capture the character's aloof demeanor, I invested a lot of effort into the makeup, repeatedly refining the highlights and the corners of the eyes to look sharper. The lighting on rainy days is complex; achieving a cinematic, blockbuster-like quality was entirely thanks to the photographer's careful lighting guidance, all while ensuring our wigs didn't collapse from the moisture. Walking on the wet, slippery stone path in black leather shoes and a short dress required careful steps, yet I still had to project the composed, noble poise of the Kamisato Clan. This was a completely different feeling from cosplaying Kamisato Ayato. Perhaps this is the true charm of cosplay: experiencing the soul of different characters through specific costumes and atmospheres. As the scent of white roses mingled with the rain, lifting the black umbrella made me feel truly immersed in that elegant rainy world. Shooting in cool tones demands emotional composure; I constantly adjusted my gaze and posture to ensure every frame matched the character's reserved elegance. Maintaining Kamisato Ayato's stern expression was demanding, whereas my role as Kamisato Ayaka was to balance gentleness with inner strength. When taking the crossover group photos, we discussed how characters from vastly different settings should stand together, which eventually gave rise to those umbrella-holding group shots. The rain started out light, but grew heavier toward the end, turning the umbrellas into heavy props. To preserve image quality, we repeatedly wiped water droplets off our wigs, and thankfully, the results were very satisfying. Reviewing the raw photos on the computer after the shoot, this series captured both the classical elegance unique to Genshin Impact and the blend of modern sci-fi and classical charm from Star Rail—truly an unforgettable memory. I also particularly loved the silhouettes beneath the streetlights, which seemed to shorten the distance between the Kamisato Clan and the Star Rail characters. Throughout the shoot, we constantly analyzed our character expressions, from umbrella-holding gestures to backward glances, while maintaining clean lines for our outfits and legs. This professional polish made the final images much more enduringly captivating. This shoot also made me realize that bringing characters together across different works against changing scenes can yield surprising visual effects. This experience deepened my understanding of both Genshin Impact and Star Rail worldviews, and I eagerly look forward to the next crossover collaboration.
