A lot of thought actually went into this Columbina Cosplay set, from the decision to shoot, to location selection, and finally to the actual implementation. It took a long time to restore the fabric of the costume and the details of the accessories, especially that highly recognizable hollow-out blindfold, as well as the large area of white feathers and red highlights in the hair, which all required repeated adjustments to achieve the ideal sense of lightness. The shooting location was chosen at Nanning Yinghua Studio. The studio was arranged with a large amount of blue and white floral art and white wrought iron carved backdrops, which, combined with the reflection effect of the mirror floor, crafted the entire space into that chilly yet dreamy atmosphere typical of Genshin Impact.

My collaborator this time was teacher Sijiu Yixian, who was extremely patient and highly professional in guiding poses and capturing dynamic movements. Since Columbina herself is a character filled with mystery yet carrying a trace of delicate vulnerability, we didn't choose overly complex large movements, but instead focused on highlighting emotional expressions from several different perspectives, such as the quietness when holding flowers, the agility when sitting upright, and the softness when looking down to adjust the skirt hem. As everyone knows, when the atmosphere and lighting are well-set in the early stages, the pressure of color grading in post-production becomes much lighter. Shooting and delivering photos on the very same day—this kind of efficient output is inseparable from sufficient early-stage preparation and precise on-site control.

For the post-production part, I preserved the original transparent and cool-toned characteristics of the photos, enhancing the purity of the blue and white color scheme. At the same time, I processed the texture of the character's skin to be more natural and soft, trying to get as close as possible to that unique 2D transparency of Genshin Impact characters. From setting the theme to the final retouching, the entire process of this photo set went extremely smoothly without any back-and-forth friction. Whether it was the early-stage makeup and hair or the posing guidance, everyone shared great chemistry. Being able to shoot the desired effect within a short time was truly an incredibly satisfying experience, and it deepened my understanding of this character a lot. I hope this photo set allows everyone to feel the quiet power of light, shadow, and the character herself, enjoying this romance exclusive to Genshin Impact's Damselette Columbina.
