[Xishi cosplay] Honor of Kings - Xu Xiangsi: Sharing Details of Pink Wig Cosplay and Makeup - Image 1

This time I cosplayed Xishi's "Xu Xiangsi" skin from Honor of Kings. The overall color palette features soft peach pink and orange, which is very youthful and girlish. The wig consists of fluffy, slightly curly twin-tails with two large hair buns on top. Complemented by bows and metal tassel hair accessories, the visual center of gravity is very stable. To recreate the lightness of the skin, I specially chose sheer chiffon and organza materials to make the skirt hem, and the translucent ribbons on the arms also underwent multi-layered gradient treatment. When taking photos, the ambient light can shine through to create a dreamlike texture.

For the makeup, the focus was on the eyes. I used a warm orange eyeshadow as a base, paired with fine shimmer to highlight the aegyosal, and combined it with greyish-brown colored contact lenses to make the gaze look gentler. The lip color chosen was a matte milk-tea shade to avoid taking away from the soft beauty of the overall pink and orange palette. The handheld prop is a weapon modeled after a lotus. The surface has a pearlescent coating, and tiny LED beads are hidden inside the petals, allowing it to glow faintly under dim indoor light to enhance the atmosphere.

During the shoot, I specially chose a wooden window frame and green plants as the background, creating a contrast between the warm-toned character and the cool-toned background to make the character stand out. As for wearing the wig, because the hair buns are large, wire mesh was used inside for support, and multiple bobby pins were used for fixation. So even though the styling is dramatic, it didn't easily collapse throughout the day. The entire makeup and styling process took about three hours. The hair, in particular, required repeated adjustments to the curve of the bangs and the sides to make it look natural rather than stiff. The cuffs and waistband of this costume feature exquisite embroidered patterns, and I manually added gold thread outlining to make the details withstand close-up shots better. During the shoot, I tried both half-body and close-up compositions. This cover photo adopts a slightly high-angle shot, paired with the action of holding the lotus, making the overall look peaceful yet dynamic.
