This shoot focused on two core locations: the event installations at the Honor of Kings City Party and the outdoor garden outside, fully documenting the texture and colors of Dolia's cool summer outfit. Under bright outdoor light, the primary blue-and-white color palette looked exceptionally refreshing, matching the summer vibe of the event perfectly.

The hair and makeup logic for this look revolved around an aquatic, airy, and agile feel. The long light-blue curly hair on the head utilized a wool-curl styling technique, maintaining a soft fluffiness that glinted with translucent highlights under sunlight. The signature curly ahoge on top served as an indispensable soul detail, paired with white foam-like hair ornaments scattered among the strands to perfectly recreate character traits while adding a flowing dynamic during action snapshots. For makeup, given her playful persona, the base was kept extremely light, intentionally layering light blue fine shimmer under the eyes and across the C-zone, which paired with light-colored contact lenses to give her gaze an innocent charm.

Costume fabric selection and layering were key to the finished quality of this Dolia cosplay shoot. The skirt utilized light, semi-sheer chiffon and mesh in multi-layered splicing—the outer layer in fresh baby blue, transitioning smoothly into a natural pink-purple gradient toward the inner hem. This color-blocked blend of cool and warm tones presented a unique dreamlike texture under harsh outdoor sunlight. The collar and crossbody pearl chain accessories not only balanced the airy weightlessness of the mesh but also added refined delicacy. The wavy haircut of the skirt hem easily generated flowing motion when walking or catching a gentle breeze. Additionally, the white cloud-shaped shoulder bag proved to be a delightful styling highlight, forming a clever accent against the overall water-blue tone, keeping the outfit from looking plain while maintaining everyday cuteness as part of a Blue-themed outfit.

On shooting day, we focused primarily on the main venue of the Honor of Kings City Party and a nearby natural garden. The inflatable structures at the main venue were eye-catching, offering the photographer an excellent compositional frame; using a shallow depth of field blurred the background, highlighting the subject while preserving the lively atmosphere of the event during Convention photography. When shooting at the venue, to bypass cluttered pedestrians and signage in the background, some photos were taken from low angles looking up or as close-up telephoto shots. Such perspectives eliminated camera blind spots while showcasing body proportions beautifully.

Moving to the garden setting, lighting conditions shifted noticeably. Midday outdoor sun was harsh, but the greenery and small yellow flowers were extremely photogenic. I brought a yellow-green balloon as a prop, using its high saturation alongside warm background greens and yellows to create a fun warm-and-cool contrast against the blue-and-white dress. Under intense sunlight, I specifically had the photographer use a reflector to fill face lighting evenly, preserving the rich ambient contrast without leaving harsh shadows across the face. Squatting, holding the balloon, and gazing into the distance added lively energy, avoiding stiff posing while giving the photos a relaxed, candid feel.

For footwear details, I chose transparent block-heeled crystal sandals. They offered solid stability even on sloped lawns without twisting ankles, while the clear material seamlessly preserved lower-body line continuity visually, preserving the lightweight look. In outdoor temperatures nearing thirty degrees Celsius, despite having many elements, the outfit remained comfortable due to light, breathable fabrics. Events like the Honor of Kings City Party that blend physical sets with gaming IP are fantastic experiences for cosplayers. Moving across different setups while documenting with camera lenses truly captures a character's vitality and fun in the real world, making this photo series a complete visual summary of this shooting trip.
