[Dolia cosplay] Honor of Kings Mermaid Princess's Summer Pool Whisper

This pool photoshoot outdoor set was specially planned for Dolia's mermaid-themed outfit. The aqua-blue wig reveals a very soft gradient luster under the sunlight, and the starfish and seashell hair ornaments on the top of the head echo her identity as the Mermaid Princess. The costume features a tube-top design with layered ruffles, and the skirt hem is sewn with pearls and 3D appliques. Just during the fitting, I felt the strong agility of this outfit, so we intentionally added transparent bubble balls and ocean-themed miniature cakes during the shoot to enrich the narrative of the frame.

To capture that coolness and vitality of a summer poolside, picking the location is crucial. The mosaic blue and white tiles and the reflection of the water surface here make the color tones of the frame highly unified. During the shooting process, I tried two different states: sitting on a swim ring and standing by the edge of the pool. When sitting, cooperating with the bubble machine and props can create a relaxed playing atmosphere; whereas when standing and holding props, the composition emphasizes the drape of the skirt hem and the flowing feel of the hair strands more.

This set of photos experimented with high-key natural light photography, ensuring that the blue and white color scheme was not overexposed, while preserving the texture of the clothing's gauze material. The photographer intentionally captured some moments of flowing hair strands so that the frame wouldn't appear rigid. In addition, wig wearing comfort is very important for a coser. To maintain the fluffiness of the bangs and the mermaid curls, a lot of thought was spent on the hairnet and styling in the early stages. Although the weather was very hot, seeing the clear light and well-placed atmosphere in the final photos made me feel that everyone's tacit cooperation was fully reflected in the lens language. When sorting through the negatives, I found that the combination of the water surface and the gentle breeze could indeed showcase the lightweight characteristics of this costume to the greatest extent. Regarding some anti-slip and safety preparations for the poolside shooting, full confirmations were made before officially clicking the shutter.
