[Dyadia Cosplay] Honor of Kings Aqua City Convention Photos: A Meeting of Purple Umbrella and Pink Japanese Style

The promised Aqua City convention photos are finally here! This time I cosplayed Dyadia from Honor of Kings. The venue on the day was actually much more crowded than expected, so I'm truly grateful for the seamless cooperation with photographer Paramecium to capture a few clean sets in such an environment. The design of this look leans towards nimble lightness, so the photographer specifically captured moments where the gauzy fabric fluttered, giving static convention photos a dynamic sense of beauty.

In terms of details, to fit the character Dyadia, I slightly adjusted my facial proportions in the makeup this time, pairing long straight pale-blonde hair with blue-green eye contacts, using a subtle heterochromia effect to enhance the character's spirit. The plush animal ears on both sides of my head were very angle-dependent, but combined with floral and pink butterfly ribbon hair accessories, they lifted the visual center of my face significantly, making facial contours look more refined. The main costume is a bright pink-and-white cross-collar Japanese style cosplay outfit, with distinct gold piping and matte jacquard patterns on the outer shoulder sleeves, adding rich texture. The waist area features heavy craftsmanship—a deep navy wide sash embroidered with gold characters, highlighted by a striking teal cloud-pattern ornament at the center, flanked by flowing orange-red silk ribbon patchwork at the back. Adjusting these sashes to fit snugly without loosening took nearly half an hour in the dressing room before shooting.

The purple umbrella prop I brought that day was also a crucial interactive element in the styling. Featuring a real wooden frame, its cape-like violet-red hue when opened was striking, creating a bold contrast against the pink-and-white outfit. I personally love standing while holding the open umbrella or posing with it folded in hand—it blocks chaotic crowd backgrounds while framing the subject naturally at the center. Holding a folded umbrella handle requires controlling wrist force to let it hang naturally by my side without looking stiff. Finger and nail details couldn't be ignored either; I prepared long nails decorated with pearls and silver accents beforehand, which matched the character quite well.

As for the lighting at Aqua City that day, it was a somewhat ambiguous semi-indoor environment with both soft diffuse reflections and direct harsh light. Guided by the photographer, the lighting transitions in the final edits were rendered very smoothly, preserving the warm tones of the costume itself. Even with extensive bokeh background blurring, the light-and-dark contrast of the subject remained crisp and clear. To capture Dyadia's mood—a blend of laziness and subtle cunning—I needed to constantly adjust my gaze and facial orientation facing the lens. Doing this for half a day amidst flowing convention crowds was physically exhausting. Midway through, I switched locations to capture additional seated and kneeling shots, hoping to enrich the visual perspectives of this set.

I particularly love the quote mentioned in the post: \"A chance encounter blessed by heaven; the planning is mine, the fulfillment is yours.\" Although it's just a character line, it resonated deeply within the overall shoot atmosphere. Bringing a beloved character to life in a three-dimensional real-world setting is an immensely fulfilling achievement, and translating that fulfillment into photos relies heavily on the photographer's camera language and timing on site. I hope these convention photos allow everyone to feel Dyadia's unique charm, poised between cute and mysterious, serving as a satisfying result for my shoot preparations.
