[Gongsun Li Cosplay] Floral Dance Skin Recreation: Agile Moments in a Sea of Hydrangeas

Doing a Floral Dance cosplay for Gongsun Li was truly a delightful experience! This time, we found an entire sea of white hydrangeas to recreate the character's cool and agile demeanor, bringing out the atmosphere to its absolute fullest.

This costume is packed with numerous details. To match the game character's lightweight and delicate design, the main body of the skirt features a large area of refreshing white blending into deep-sea blue gradients. The waist and the edges of the skirt hem are adorned with hand-sewn blue roses and tulle petals, giving it a strong three-dimensional look visually. The fluffy, pink-and-white patched rabbit ears are A-Li's signature trait. When wearing them, I specifically adjusted the angle so that they echoed the blue roses on both sides of my head perfectly, instantly elevating the recognizability of the overall look.

The flower staff prop in my hand was also a custom-made piece. Recreating those massive blue petals in real life looks incredibly stunning. The prop itself has some weight, so during the shoot, I had to consciously control the strength in my arms, but thankfully, the captured effect looks light and graceful. Recreating A-Li's ethereal and agile vibe heavily tests body posture control. Since the skirt hem is short and features an asymmetric design, I had to deliberately control the direction the skirt fluttered while spinning or jumping to catch the most natural snapshot.

The photographer for this session really understood the essence of A-Li. Not only did they use a wide aperture to blur the pure white flower clusters in the background—making the entire portrait look as if I had just stepped out of a fairy world—but they also paid special attention to guiding detailed interactions and eye contact. I really love the half-body close-up shot where I hold a small white flower in my mouth; it beautifully interprets the character's stubborn yet gentle side. The shots of sitting and reclining during the sea of flowers photo shoot were also very interesting, blending naturally with the environment with the help of a white wooden chair and framed composition. The final photos carry a transparent, breathing texture. Although the palette is dominated by cool tones, the ample diffused light makes the entire frame look gentle and vibrant. Even though we had to repeatedly fuss over adjusting the position of my tights and shoes during this Cosplay photography process, the moment I saw the final results, it felt entirely worth it.
