This time, I finally captured the exact vibe I wanted for Chisa's weapon and full character design. The size of the giant scissors is even more exaggerated than imagined. When holding it with one hand, the center of gravity shifts far forward, but fortunately, the prop maker added a counterweight at the hilt, so it doesn't feel too exhausting to strike poses. Before the shoot, I specifically practiced her in-game idle animations repeatedly, especially that one-legged balancing posture. To stabilize my center of gravity, my core had to stay locked and my ankle tensed, otherwise the tip of the blade would easily touch the ground.

The advantage of a white studio is that it clearly reveals the fabric folds on the clothes and the metallic textures on the weapon props. The dark blue sailor-style JK uniform paired with a red bow tie, topped with an outer gray windbreaker jacket, provides a rich sense of layering. The shoulder straps and belt are all designed to be adjustable, ensuring they won't slip off during dynamic turns. The red coating of the scissors reflects beautifully under the studio lights, and those golden patterns contrast sharply with the dark blade surface, looking incredibly textured during close-up shots.

The photographer for this session, @Zimu, really understood the storyboard feel I wanted, capturing a few snapshots where the wind blew my hair and hem up, infusing a bit of flowing momentum into the static frame. Actually, there are many details to this costume, such as the lining of the skirt hem, the fastening method of the thigh ring, and the ID badge at the waistβ€”every part attempts to accurately recreate the setting. Whenever I cosplay a character where the weapon takes up such a large presence, my biggest worry is stiff movements. So during the shoot, I kept adjusting the angles of my shoulders and wrists to make the weapon feel like an extension of my own body. Although the entire session was physically demanding, seeing that clean, sharp silhouette feel in the final photos makes all the prior preparation totally worth it.
