[Yazawa Nico cosplay] The Little Devil in Love Live!, the Anime-style photo set Is Finally Out

A lot of thought went into this Yazawa Nico cosplay Anime-style photo set, from the initial makeup test to the final execution. This short top with pink polka dots and black lace, paired with a red printed tutu skirt, is visually highly eye-catching, but it also places high demands on body proportions. The waist-baring section requires well-controlled posture, otherwise it can easily look bloated. The wig is styled into twin tails, with the horn ornaments and pink bowknots on top being the absolute soul of the look. To secure them properly, I used several positioning clips. It was very hot in the studio on the day of the shoot, but to maintain the volume of the hairstyle, I didn't dare use too much hairspray and could only rely on hand-braiding and clips to hold it up.

In terms of props, that trident could not be missed. The grip part had an anti-slip treatment, but holding it up with one hand to pose during the shoot was quite a test of core strength. The small black wings on the back were made of leather material; the weight was manageable, but the edges were a bit sharp, making it easy to scrape against my neck and shoulders with larger movements. During shooting breaks, I would repeatedly adjust its angle to avoid unnatural creases appearing in the frame.

The photographer's lighting this time was highly layered. The red curtains and European-style furniture created a retro yet gorgeous stage atmosphere. As the warm light hit the polka dots and lace of the costume, the texture instantly stood out. I experimented with several different camera angles, shooting sitting, kneeling, and standing positions interacting with the prop. For instance, the shot of me sitting on the carpet with crossed legs holding the pitchfork beautifully embodies the character's playfulness, while the coordination of the stockings and shoes makes the overall styling more complete. The final standing glance back over my shoulder had the light outlining the curves of my waist, which I feel is one of the more expressive angles in this set for our Cosplay photography session.

The studio scene itself was rich in details, and props like the vintage clock, birdcage, and candles were not wasted at all. In some frames, I intentionally raised the pitchfork high to let its handle interweave with the carved patterns in the background, increasing the depth of the image. The post-processing mainly adjusted color saturation and skin texture without excessive slimming or warping, trying best to maintain authentic body lines. After all, the accuracy of cosplay is not just about the face; posture and a relaxed feel in the movements are also crucial.

My state on the day of the shoot was pretty good. Although putting on and taking off the props and costume was quite troublesome, once I stepped in front of the lens, I could swiftly enter that little devil character feeling that is a bit arrogant yet cute. Every time I see the finished photos, I can recall the details of cooperating with the team in the studio at that time. This process of transforming a two-dimensional character into a three-dimensional reality is forever the most charming part of cosplay.
