This Komeiji Koishi cosplay costume presented a greater challenge in terms of textures and details than originally anticipated. The shooting location was set in a garden full of blooming hydrangeas, primarily to match the character's inherently fairytale-like vibe. The outfit's overall color palette consists mainly of green, black, and off-white, featuring an intricate patchwork of different fabrics. The skirt is layered with various materials, topped with an outer layer of black lace mesh that creates a voluminous, fluffy silhouette as I walk. To accentuate the floral and botanical motifs, the costume and cuffs are entwined with ample black tulle and green mesh embellishments. To faithfully capture the character's nuanced design, I intentionally wrapped vine props with blue blossoms around my arms and the skirt hem; these props were not only visually pleasing but also subtly guided the viewer's gaze—such as the vine of blue blossoms extending toward my legs in Photo 3, which enhanced the dimensional layering of the overall look.

The headwear is a black wide-brimmed hat adorned with a large off-white ribbon bow and sheer tulle. This hat casts shadows quite easily under harsh sunlight, so during the shoot, I had to micro-adjust the brim angle continuously to ensure my face caught sufficient light. For the makeup, I wore bright green contact lenses and emphasized the layered gradients of the eyeshadow, complemented by pink blush to create a sculpted, anime-inspired aesthetic. The wig selected was a light mint green long curly wig, styled with extra volume at the crown to accommodate the hat's structure. The wig had a substantial volume of hair, requiring frequent upkeep on-location to prevent stray strands from sticking to my face or costume and detracting from the cleanliness of the shot.

It was relatively hot on the shooting day, and while the garden enjoyed ample light, the direct sunlight was quite harsh. This meant seeking out the dappled shade beneath tree leaves to naturally diffuse and shade sections of my face and body, introducing richer depth to the frame. The posture in Photo 3 required sitting on a white wooden trellis; pairing the leg positioning with subtly patterned black stockings and high heels nicely elongated the visual proportions, which was key to bringing out the garment's graceful aura. Posing among the flower bushes also required careful attention so as not to damage the flora, while keeping the delicate mesh of the outfit safe from catching on branches. Throughout the session, the flare and drape of the skirt had to be adjusted repeatedly to keep the blue floral props from being obscured. To capture the serene tranquility in Photo 2, I intentionally slowed my movements, allowing the photographer to catch candid moments as I turned my head or raised my hand.

Prop detailing was another core focus of this shoot. The tiny pink flower held between my fingertips, though modest in size, provided a delicate pop of contrasting color against the dominant blue-green palette, serving as a crisp focal point. The gesture of pointing toward the sky took advantage of the brick wall and greenery behind the trellis, crafting a sense of vertical extension and narrative depth. Overall, it was a physically demanding yet immensely rewarding shoot. The intricacy of the attire meant maintaining proper posture even during shooting breaks to avoid wrinkling the fabric or shifting the accessories. The final photos turned out richly colored—the vibrant green of the foliage blended seamlessly with the dress, while the blue blossoms offered the perfect accent, achieving the exact visual harmony we envisioned.
