I finally arranged this outdoor shoot for the classic sailor uniform of Sankarea: Undying Love. As mentioned in the original post, the red marks appearing in the photos are all specialized stage blood props that were washed off immediately after the shoot; please absolutely do not imitate this kind of battle-damaged styling in daily life, as it is purely a visual artistic expression.

The shooting location was chosen amidst a lush cluster of Hydrangea bushes. Endless Summer flowers have a cool blue color, widely distributed among green leaves; using them as foreground and background can create a very intense depth-of-field effect. To coordinate with the ambient lighting of this set, I deliberately graded the overall color tone into cool blue-green hues. The lighting setup leaned toward dimness this time, as the frame needed to retain a touch of mystery. Combined with the cooperative weather that day, natural light supplemented by some cool fill light resulted in an effect that thoroughly matched the narrative mood of this photo set.

Preparations for hair and makeup took quite a lot of time. The wig needed blunt bangs trimmed, and the hair ends had to be straightened, as this hairstyle of Sankarea: Undying Love is highly iconic. The white four-petal flower hair ornament on the top right of the head was handmade by myself using shrink plastic; up close, one can clearly see the petals' texture. The red contact lenses are the crowning touch of this makeup look, with a touch of light pink eyeshadow used for blending and the lower eyelid slightly deepened. The outfit was custom-made: the sailor uniform's purple collar, white stripes, and dark blue bow tie, paired with a purple pleated skirt, have a relatively crisp cut, perfectly supporting the three-dimensional feel in the frame. Black stockings and small leather shoes are essential; this way, when squatting or sitting in the flower bushes, utilizing the extension of the leg lines keeps the composition from feeling too dull.

Posing guidance during the shoot focused primarily on emotions. The body language of a zombie is very different from that of an ordinary living person and cannot be too agile. Most of the time, I slightly caved my chest, relaxed my shoulders, kept my eyes out of focus, or slightly bowed my head. Among the photos in the set, some show me sitting on the grass examining flowers in my hands, while others show me turning my head toward a certain direction. What took the most effort in the early stage was truly conveying that corpse-like powerlessness—ensuring the posture looks limp yet without collapsing and losing aesthetic beauty.

In the later part of the shoot, we decided to raise the difficulty by adding stage blood props. After the light dimmed that day, a continuous cool-toned light was turned on. After painting the bloodstains trickling from the corner of the eye and the blood splatters on the clothes, the entire scene transformed from quiet melancholy into an atmosphere tinged with horror. Getting stage blood on the clothes was actually quite difficult to wash out, but for the sake of the texture presented in the frame, this minor price was acceptable.

Throughout the entire shoot, from makeup and costume to location scouting and nighttime lighting setups, everything was meant to ensure the final images recreated that beauty tinged with an eerie and shattered feeling. During post-production retouching, the saturation was deliberately lowered slightly to make the frames closer to the setting's chilly detachment. Wrapping up today, I feel the completion level of this styling was quite good; despite enduring the stickiness of stage blood all over, the final results were very satisfying, serving as a gratifying submission for this classic look. If there's an opportunity later on, I might try capturing supplementary indoor shots, since outdoor shoots are indeed heavily influenced by weather and light, hoping to shoot more diverse perspectives next time.
