[Misaki cosplay] Convention Photo and Shoot Log from the Exhibition Center

Shooting convention photos at the exhibition center was far more demanding than anticipated, yet immensely engaging. The venue was vast, crowned with industrial steel trusses and overhead strip lights that cast harsh, chaotic illumination. To bypass background crowds, the photographer and I scouted a relatively open corner, repurposing a booth ladder as our central prop.

Regarding the attire, the deep navy sleeveless cheongsam featured ornate golden embroidery and an ultra-fitted cut. To complete the silhouette, I layered black shorts underneath with Black stockings, paired with glossy ultra-high stilettos. The pairing of heels and hosiery visually elongated the leg lines significantly, though it made navigating the hall quite cumbersome. Posing in a tailored cheongsam and stilettos proved physically grueling, requiring continuous core engagement to prevent fabric creasing while holding steady balance.

We explored multiple stances throughout the session, continuously adjusting beside the ladder for optimal framing—crossing one leg for support, leaning against the rungs, or lifting an arm to adjust hair or hold the jacket. The photographer favored low-angle upward perspectives, using lens foreshortening to further stretch the leg silhouette. Because sheer black hosiery is prone to harsh specular glares under flashes, reflector angles were vital; subtle angle shifts brought a rich, velvety texture to the legs on camera.

One standout shot featured the jacket draped wide open with hands firmly on hips, radiating an imposing aura that aligned with Misaki's aloof, composed demeanor. Aside from convention hall congestion, the ambient lighting was manageable through dedicated fill lights. While pacing in this gear all day left my legs intensely sore, seeing the polished selects made every bit of effort worthwhile. Careful pre-planning of poses ensured a high yield of successful captures that fully met my expectations.
