For this Remielle cosplay styling from Zenless Zone Zero, I chose to simultaneously present two starkly different styles, using pure white and pure black as the main color schemes to reflect different facets of the character through atmospheric settings.
In the first white-winged look, what catches your eye first are the light, layered ruffles and light-blue bow ties. The fabric texture of this costume is extremely soft, with the skirt hem intertwined with transparent lace, paired with delicate white lace stockings to create a dreamlike, ethereal vibe. Pink short hair with straight bangs, complemented by geometric star hair ornaments on both sides, looks exceptionally fresh under this soft lighting. The prop wings also utilize light faux-feather material, looking visually gentle against the floral backdrop and white railings. When shooting this set, I deliberately chose a semi-reclining seated pose, allowing the skirt to naturally spread out on the ground, working with mirror reflections to emphasize a relaxed, airy girlhood charm.
The second black-winged look presents an entirely different presence. The costume switches to a black sheer mesh material; the puff sleeves add a sense of retro elegance, while multiple leather straps and star-shaped metallic buckles across the waist and chest give an aggressive, tactical mech feel. The asymmetrical black skirt paired with Black stockings featuring delicate suspenders extends the visual line of the legs. The dark feather decorations on the back form a striking contrast with the pure white wings. For this shoot, I selected more open, confident poses—such as raising an arm high to show bold resolve, while making my gaze intentionally sharper. The ambient lighting was set to deep purple, making the visual focus on the subject stand out even more.
These two looks maintain high consistency in hair accessories, both utilizing the same geometric star patches, yet a complete shift in persona is achieved through the outfit change. In particular, the cut-out designs and sheer mesh of the black outfit, paired with Black stockings with suspenders, severely tested physical pose coordination. I also made slight adjustments to the makeup: keeping it clean and luminous for the white look, while thickening the eyeliner for the black look to give off a sharper aura. Frequent outfit changes and adjustments were required during shooting, making the entire production feel incredibly fulfilling. Whether it's the ethereal nature of the white wings or the edgy coolness of the black wings, both are different facets of the character's complete personality. Being able to express this contrast through costumes and camera language is precisely the most captivating charm of cosplay.
