This time doing the A Post-Honkai Odyssey Mei Office Lady styling was based on the setting of A Post-Honkai Odyssey, and preparation took quite a long time. The outfit chosen is the most classic white shirt paired with a black high-waisted bodycon skirt. The collar of the shirt features a thin black ribbon bow, and the sleeves are slightly rolled up, making it look a bit more capable. The lower body is paired with black stockings and garter sock rings with metal buckles, and black pointed-toe stiletto high heels on the feet, making the overall lines quite sharp.
The shooting location was chosen in an empty classroom. The sunlight that day was fantastic, shining through the windows onto the blackboard and desks, forming that kind of geometric light and shadow. This kind of light actually really tests skin condition and clothing texture. The white shirt is very prone to overexposure under strong light, so during the shoot, the photographer @好想变成荷包蛋 and I were constantly adjusting angles and positioning. To capture that workplace yet slightly detached and cool atmosphere, in terms of poses, I tried leaning against the podium, sitting on the edge of a desk, or stepping one leg onto a chair. Posing on a desk while wearing high heels actually requires quite a bit of core strength; the center of gravity must be stable, otherwise it's very easy to slip. Especially the posture of lying on the desk in the photos—to make the leg lines smoother, I repeatedly tidied up the metal buckles of the garter straps and the position of the skirt hem during shooting breaks.
Many friends are curious about how to shoot black stockings so they don't look thick or heavy in front of the lens. Actually, the lighting angle is crucial; side-backlighting can make the leg contours more three-dimensional. The color tone of this set of pictures was adjusted slightly warmer in post-processing, matching the classroom's wooden floor and iron storage cabinets, creating a hazy youthful texture. Speaking of the most satisfying part of this styling, it should be the combination of the high-waisted short skirt and stilettos, which visually elongates the body proportions. Coupled with the texture of the black stockings and the details of the garter straps, it retains a hint of restraint amidst the sexiness, perfectly matching Raiden Mei's consistent temperament in Honkai Impact 3rd. Expression management needs attention during shooting; the gaze can carry a bit of confidence, chin slightly tucked, and when looking straight into the lens, the focus must be steady.
The whole shooting process was quite hard, standing in high heels on the hard floor for a long time, but seeing the final photo results made me feel that everything was totally worth it. Planning to try different light and shadow styles next time.
