For this Halloween-themed project, I chose Kanoe Itagaki, the researcher character from Blue Archive. Combined with abundant jack-o'-lanterns, thick candles, and withered branches, the entire Halloween set design truly delivered that abandoned warehouse puzzle-solving atmosphere.

Before shooting this set, the biggest headache was building the scene; arranging the shapes of the withered branches and securing the spiderwebs alone took considerable time. To build that signature warm-toned Halloween ambiance, we set up numerous physical light sources on set—such as the short, thick pillar candles and vintage lanterns in the photos, all requiring careful placement angles. The most satisfying element was the giant artificial moon lamp in the background; with controllable brightness, placing it behind me cast a stunning rim light along the silver-white wig, instantly bringing out the translucent texture of the hair strands.

In terms of attire, the silhouette and tailoring of the school uniform were essential. The combination of a pinafore vest dress and a white shirt creates a classic student uniform style; to fit the Halloween mood, an orange-and-red striped tie was chosen, and the red ribbon hairpiece served as the true soul of the character. The fabric of this costume is relatively crisp and wrinkle-resistant, which, paired with the smooth texture of Black stockings, beautifully accentuated bodily silhouettes. The character's composed and slightly enigmatic demeanor is inherently suited for this dark-toned Halloween environment.

Throughout the shoot, I continuously adjusted my posture to maintain her aloof detachment while blending into the relaxed festive mood. For example, in the pose seated on the floor shown in the photo, I carefully adjusted the angle of my legs so that, combined with the sleek sheen of the Black stockings, the visual focus of the frame naturally flowed alongside the candlelight. When the light hit my face, we deliberately emphasized the texture of the eye makeup and skin, which, combined with the golden contact lenses, pushed the overall atmospheric immersion to the max.

In post-processing, we avoided drastic color shifts, focusing instead on deepening the ambient shadows to make the warm orange tones of the candles, lanterns, and pumpkins appear even richer. This blend of strong backlighting and side-backlighting created intriguing shadow projections—such as hidden recesses on the chair and the textured ridges on the pumpkins—essential elements of any Halloween theme. Kanoe Itagaki's lore in Blue Archive already carries a blend of scientific curiosity and occult mystery, so integrating her into this Halloween styling felt seamless, evoking a marvelous sensation of the character stepping into a festive holiday-exclusive quest. I am very satisfied with this Kanoe Itagaki Cosplay set; from emotional delivery to the interplay of light and shadow, we strived to satisfy both character fidelity and festive ambiance.
