When shooting this blue and white Cool-toned photography backdrop, transparent jellyfish lamps on set served perfectly as the soft key light, creating a dreamy blend of ocean and ice crystals alongside glowing hanging tassels and white Roman pillars. The theme of this cosplay revolved around the poetic sentiment of "If I knew it was a dream, why wake up?", using abundant white chiffon and pale blue tones in the overall costume. The off-the-shoulder top paired with detached lantern sleeves gracefully showcased the collarbone line while adding visual layering. The waist was cinched with a bow and a multi-layered ruffled puff skirt; the outer layer of the skirt featured slightly reflective blue tulle over a thick white petticoat, making the fullness of the skirt particularly pronounced when standing straight or lifting a leg. White semi-sheer leg warmers on the legs featured light blue crisscross straps, with cut-out designs extending the calf silhouette. Transparent high heels echoed the reflective water-ripple material on the floor, enhancing the extended perspective of the overall composition.

In controlling poses, special attention was paid to body extension. For example, lifting one leg flat used gravity to let the skirt fan out naturally while showcasing the lower-body styling; sitting on the base of a Roman column emphasized the skirt's drape in a static pose. The ice-blue jellyfish headpiece atop my head created a flawless top-to-bottom visual connection with the transparent jellyfish pendant lights, giving the originally 2D character design a tangible physical presence. Due to the predominantly cool color palette, lighting requirements were extremely demanding during the shoot; the angle of the cool white light source had to be carefully controlled to ensure even facial illumination, allowing the red eyes to pop as the visual highlight. Mid-shoot, reflector positions were adjusted several times so the white picture frame and blue floral bouquets in the background could blend naturally without stealing focus from the subject.

Regarding hair and makeup, the long silver-white wig needed to be combed into fluffy layers to avoid sticking flat to the scalp, achieving a silhouetted balance with the wide sleeves and flared skirt. A sheer, translucent light red lip color was chosen to brighten the complexion without disturbing the cool tone's serene feel. In post-processing, to align the photos with a Dreamy photoshoot style, heavy softening was applied to highlights and shadows to eliminate harsh shadows, making the light appear ambient and diffusely reflected from all sides. Meanwhile, the blue and white shimmering reflections off the floor film were preserved, unifying the color palette within three foundational shades: white, blue, and silver. This set expresses a dreamlike serenity deep within the sea—without an overly complex backstory, simply presenting pure Anime cosplay aesthetic beauty through spatial set design and character styling.

The actual shooting set was slightly messier than the final images show, as the huge jellyfish props required hanging rigs and the white Roman pillars were assembled from modular pieces. However, through camera framing and light-and-shadow control, real-world setup traces were effectively masked—which is precisely the core technique for this style of underwater and dreamlike photography. The entire process of color coordination and material contrast transformed the physical studio into a temporary dreamscape removed from reality, allowing me to stay fully immersed in the character setting throughout. The translucent texture presented in the final images is precisely the visual experience I most wished to convey in sharing these cosplay photos.
