Putting on this Oath Wedding outfit of Cheshire and walking into the studio, my first impression was that the material and layering of this costume were far more complex than imagined. The blue-green primary color scheme is exceptionally refreshing, and the lace gauze covering the outer layer features exquisite floral embroideries with excellent drape. The veil beautifully builds up a lightweight atmosphere when walking or moving around.
The tech-infused headphone design on the headpiece combines uniquely with the wedding dress itself, which is also an iconic element exclusive to the character Cheshire; its position needed to be carefully adjusted during placement to ensure it stayed secure without looking heavy. The bouquet in hand selected a white color palette, forming a clean color echo with the full set of light blue wedding dress. In terms of makeup, to coordinate with the gray-silver tone of the wig, a more translucent visage was chosen without utilizing overly intense lip colors, hoping to showcase that pure yet slightly playful feeling.
During the shoot, I communicated with the photographer about wanting to present a flowy and agile visual experience rather than a very rigid standing posture. The high leg-lifting action required excellent balance, and fortunately, the shoes fit well enough to stabilize my center of gravity. The photographer adopted a high-key lighting approach to make the gauze material translucent, making the originally lightweight wedding dress texture look dreamlike under the lens. At the swinging moment, the skirt hem and veil created wonderful dynamic beauty.
From costume straightening to studio lighting adjustments, quite a lot of thought went into preventing the lace and thin gauze from producing reflections or excessive creases. Special thanks to the photographer for meticulously capturing every moment I worked hard to maintain. Wearing such a bridal style outfit, aside from displaying the character's lively and cheerful side, I would also pay special attention to whether each freeze-frame was natural enough. The high-slit design of the skirt hem has high requirements for leg lines, and corresponding preparations were made before shooting, hoping to present the most fitting visual effect.
Every time I complete a photoshoot with such highly designed clothing, I feel a great sense of accomplishment despite the hard process. This light blue wedding dress has numerous small straps and bow decorations, requiring immense patience for putting on, taking off, and wear adjustments. During the shoot, I would constantly remind myself to maintain agility in my expressions, trying my best to let my gaze transmit that carefree nature and sincerity the character should possess. I really love the final finished photos, the sheerness of the thin gauze, the soft transition of light hitting the ground, and the overall color tone. I hope everyone can feel this lightweight wedding dress vibe showcased at the end. This is a very satisfying session of Cosplay photography.
