From styling the wig to finally putting on the outfit and standing before the lens, preparations for this police bunny look took nearly two weeks. The blue-and-white wig required repeated grooming to maintain that natural draping curve without strands flying loose. The most challenging element was definitely the bunny-ear military cap on top: to keep it standing firm during the shoot, not only were snaps added internally, but hairspray and bobby pins were also used for multiple layers of invisible reinforcement. The glossy patent leather fabric of the costume is very demanding on posture; before shooting, posture control was essential—bending over or sitting down had to be done with extreme care to avoid unflattering creasing, though the gleaming reflections captured under studio lights were thoroughly worth it. The inner black bodysuit, red necktie, white gloves, and tactical thigh pouch effortlessly brought out that cohesive blend of techwear functionality and uniform aesthetic.

This coincided perfectly with the live venue of the 2026 Port Midsummer Cool Festival, where the booth's blue-and-white geometric props and arched lighting aligned flawlessly with the costume's dominant color palette. Throughout the shoot, the photographer constantly adjusted light placements, striving to catch the crisp glares reflected off the patent leather. To fit the police bunny theme, we put considerable thought into pose design: retaining the sharp, capable coolness of an officer while preserving the intrinsic playful charm of bunny girl tropes. Examples included saluting while resting a hand on the cap visor, tugging at the tie, or leaning forward and resting against props. In particular, the pose in Photo 1—leaning against a geometric block with one leg bent—heavily tested core strength and leg muscle control; because the Black stockings fabric was slippery and the high heels were quite tall, finding the right center of gravity was vital to keeping lines fluid and natural. The forward-leaning posture in Photo 3 was designed to better accentuate the curves of the back and waist in the patent bodysuit, while interacting with the leg ring and black pouch to visually forge an intricate interplay of glossy and matte textures.

Cosplaying characters with intensely reflective materials and towering high heels at conventions or events takes a heavy toll on stamina. To preserve garment smoothness, I could hardly sit down casually to rest, opting instead to stand straight or lightly perch on the edge of a chair back. The ends of the wig tended to tangle easily, requiring simultaneous care for both the hairstyle and hat positioning during makeup touch-ups. Nevertheless, this shoot granted me deeper insights into managing patent leather: applying a touch of baby oil or dedicated silicone spray beforehand keeps the fabric sleek and fingerprint-free. Coordinating Black stockings is also an art form—selecting the right opacity creates a rich textural contrast against the glossy shorts, elevating the outfit's visual layering.

The instant the shoes and jacket came off after wrapping up, my muscles completely relaxed. This police bunny styling achieved my envisioned results in dynamic posing tension, material representation, and scenic harmony. Despite the tedious prep work, capturing these details through the lens in such a well-matched booth setting and translating concepts into tangible visuals was a rare, rewarding experience that gave me greater confidence in mastering this style.
