Today's Robin x Fanta collaboration look took about two weeks of preparation from early communications to officially pressing the shutter. When I first received the costume reference sheets, I was immediately drawn by its bright and impactful orange-and-blue color scheme. Compared to the stage-like and formal dress designs in the original game, the daily casual style of this collaboration is exceptionally suited for outdoor location shooting in a bright indoor venue, creating a much more relaxed overall atmosphere.
Wig styling was an extremely time-consuming step in this look. The light blue base color needed a natural transition into a purple gradient at the hair tips. To keep the wig from looking stiff, I intentionally styled slight curls and fluffiness on the sideburns and the hair bundles at the back of the head. Combined with the signature golden floating halo above the head, the entire silhouette became much more dimensional. For the feather hair accessory on the upper left side of the head, I chose a pink-and-white gradient material, which produced a slight pearlescent sheen under the venue's overhead lighting. The facial makeup also strictly followed the character design: a red heart-shaped painting on the right cheek paired with blue-green nail polish created an interesting color collision. The eye makeup utilized warm pink tones, with eyelashes styled distinctly strand-by-strand, striving to recreate Robin's lively yet slightly playful maiden charm.
There are numerous details in the costume portion. The white off-the-shoulder top features wide ruffled cuffs, and the cropped design perfectly exposes the waist and abdomen lines. The blue-and-yellow abstract pattern on the chest is the exclusive logo for this Robin x Fanta collaboration, and the print texture is exquisite. The lower half is paired with a bright orange miniskirt featuring an elastic gathered waist, accented on the side with white patterned fabric, making it look vibrant when walking. For shoes, I chose off-white platform sneakers and specifically replaced the shoelaces with orange ones prior to the shoot, creating an upper-and-lower color resonance with the skirt to enhance visual unity. The overall fabric of this outfit is relatively light and breathable, making it easy to capture a fresh texture under indoor lighting, though attention must be paid to the direction of clothing creases when posing.
The shooting location was chosen as an indoor hall featuring glass curtain walls and pillars. With the soft light filtering through the glass from natural light and the circular lighting fixtures on the ceiling, the overall light-and-shadow conditions were quite even, allowing bright skin tones to be captured without extra reflectors. To showcase the energetic vibe of this outfit, I designed several frames with varying shot sizes and postures.
Standing pose photos were primarily used to showcase full-body proportions and costume coordination. Poses like supporting the head with one hand or making a finger heart with both hands brought the frame to life while better highlighting the leg lines. For the seated pose photos, I laid out a white plush carpet as a prop, aiming to pull the visual center of gravity toward the upper body and facial expressions, cultivating a sense of intimacy. Half-body close-ups made it convenient to display facial makeup details and the collaboration pattern on the chest of the outfit.
Throughout the shooting process, the biggest challenge was actually maintaining a bright expression. The character Robin inherently carries a strong sense of affinity and energetic vitality, so before the lens, I tried my best to relax my shoulders and pair every shutter click with a natural smile. To fit the theme of the collaboration, I also slightly boosted the saturation of the orange during post-processing color grading, making the overall image look cheerier and better aligned with the refreshing tone of the summer collaboration.
If some of the exaggerated props are removed, this outfit wouldn't feel out of place for daily street wear, falling into a very fresh summer casual style. The overall presented effect met my expectations for this collaboration setting and fit the refreshing atmosphere this photoshoot aimed to convey. I hope this photo set manages to transmit this lively feeling.
