[Firefly cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Letter from Spring: White Stockings JK Girl Under the Blue Sky

Retouching on this photo set was finally completed today, and taking advantage of the fine weather, I'm eager to share it with everyone. The theme for this shoot was Firefly's Letter from Spring. The outfit actually contains an abundance of details—especially the white uniform top. To faithfully capture its crisp, structured silhouette, I carefully steamed it with a garment steamer before heading out. The teal-green ribbon bow at the collar with its metallic pendant serves as the visual centerpiece of the entire ensemble; when putting it on, repeated adjustments were needed to ensure it didn't sit crooked. For the wig, I trimmed the bangs the night before. The long white hair gently transitions into a pale turquoise gradient at the tips, and to keep the styling sleek and free of flyaways outdoors, I applied a generous amount of setting spray.

The shooting location was an outdoor plaza featuring numerous white railings and staircases. The sky that day was remarkably blue and virtually cloudless. The photographer noted that such a clean, bright background was exceptionally suited for capturing this vibrant aesthetic. The first image was taken from a low angle looking up, where I leaned forward while raising my right hand. This movement was actually quite a test of core balance: to keep my body from appearing stiff, I not only had to maintain an easy smile but also ensure the shoulder bag did not obscure the skirt. The low-angle perspective stretched the overall silhouette nicely, and with the skirt hem gently floating upward, the contours of the over-the-knee White stockings were fully revealed, creating wonderful visual dynamism. For the second shot, I chose to lean against the railing. This stance was comparatively relaxed—no need for forced expressions, just looking into the lens naturally. Right at that moment, a soft breeze swept past, lightly stirring the strands of hair, which instantly elevated that refreshing spring ambiance to its peak.

As a cosplayer who frequently shoots outdoors, I can say that behind every effortless-looking frame lies meticulous attention to detail. For example, the black shoulder bag I carried: the angle at which it was presented across different poses directly affected the compositional cohesion of the frame. To complement this JK-style plaid skirt, I chose over-the-knee White stockings. While aesthetically pleasing, I constantly had to monitor whether the cuffs were rolling down or if unwanted creases had formed on the skirt. Because the natural sunlight was fairly harsh, I coordinated closely with the photographer on reflector placement, ensuring facial illumination stayed soft without blowing out the fabric's highlights.

For this Letter from Spring concept, I interpreted it as a slice of vibrant everyday life. It did not require intricate storytelling—just a crisp blue sky, white railings, and this uniform were enough to convey that refreshing breath of air. The temperature that day was just right, with very little perspiration, making it an exceptionally smooth outdoor session.
