Preparing this Astra Yao outfit took around an entire month from start to finish. From selecting textiles and pattern drafting to hunting down all the intricate accessories, the whole journey was truly bittersweet yet immensely rewarding.

In terms of the outfit, this black-and-white color palette heavily tests attention to detail. The inner black leather corset not only needed to sculpt the overall silhouette visually, but also required precise tightness adjustments during wear to guarantee comfort while roaming the convention floor. The pearl necklace across the chest paired with the golden watch dial ornament serves as the visual centerpiece of the ensemble. To faithfully reproduce that vintage yet tech-infused songstress aura, I went through multiple batches of pearls before finally finding accessories with the ideal luster and proportion.

The white chiffon sleeves and champagne satin ribbon bows look soft and airy, but to prevent them from snagging on things across the bustling expo, I reinforced them with numerous concealed snap buttons on the inside. Styling the wig was another massive endeavor: the straight blunt bangs and side hime-cut locks demanded continuous angle adjustments, while red contact lenses paired with slightly winged eyeliner sharply highlighted the character's radiant, self-assured presence.

Speaking of the diva concept, it's almost impossible not to envision a grand stage presence. Even though these were just convention snapshots and floor walkabouts, stepping into this attire and standing there made me instinctively straighten my posture, eager to present my best form. Holding the bird-shaped light cone prop (Robin's Light Cone) gave a satisfying sense of weight and became my ultimate asset for easing awkward hand postures while posing.

Lighting at conventions is notoriously chaotic, with harsh overhead lights that easily cast unflattering shadows beneath the eyes and beside the nose wings. This put the makeup's endurance to a serious test. I utilized a long-wear matte foundation and generously baked the T-zone with translucent setting powder. Beyond standard eyeshadow blending, I dabbed fine shimmer along the inner corners of the eyes, which sparked gorgeous specular highlights beneath camera flashes.

While capturing these Convention photos, the photographer was brilliant at catching candid nuances. Rather than forcing rigid poses, I merely tilted my head slightly or looked calmly off to the side. The tailoring of the garment naturally accentuates the shoulder and neck contours, so dramatic posing was unnecessary; a quiet, composed presence complemented the outfit's rich texture much better.

People always say that every era needs a shining diva of its own. Stepping into this outfit today—even for a fleeting cosplay moment—felt like standing under those dazzling spotlights. For cosplayers, every portrayal is a brand-new adventure. Recreating a beloved character from scratch isn't just about external dress-up; it's an immersive artistic journey. So many sweet visitors came over for selfies at the con, exchanging our mutual passion for the game, which made for a wonderful atmosphere. I kept refining my state throughout, hoping to convey an even more grounded character aura. These floor shots of Astra Yao are just the prologue; if given the opportunity, I hope to bring this styling to a dedicated set for a full, polished photoset.
