[Chinatsu Remiel cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Angels of Delusion: Sweetness and Rebellion in the Arcade

What touches my heart most in Zenless Zone Zero is the interaction among the trio. When I got the design for Angels of Delusion, I felt Chinatsu's crybaby yet stubborn personality had such an endearing gap moe. So I immediately decided on this outfit combining pink-and-white striped slouch socks with a White thigh-highs outfit and thigh ring. The neon feel of the arcade truly brought the character's sweet-cool subculture vibe to the max.

For this location, we selected an arcade filled with stacked claw machines and vintage TVs. The "GAMING ZONE" neon sign on the wall interwoven with various purple and pink glows created lighting that heavily tested makeup texture. For makeup, I specifically adjusted eye color to pair with light blonde wavy hair featuring slightly flared tips. Look at this hair color—under purple lighting, it emits a cool silver tone, which, combined with the red tie featuring white stars, keeps the visual center tightly focused.

As for the outfit, this white short-sleeved puffed shirt has a crisp, structured silhouette, while the studded collar at the neck and cinched waist give movements extra dimension. The most striking element is the pair of pink-and-white knit fingerless gloves, paired with matching slouch socks over white pantyhose on the legs, plus a leather thigh ring. This not only visually elongates leg proportions, but also creates lively visual layering when squatting, sitting, or reaching out.

Shooting inside the claw machine scene was actually super fun. Space inside was very limited; trying to capture the teddy bear plushie and mechanical claw simultaneously while keeping my eyes focused on the camera required constantly adjusting my seated pose. That semi-seated posture inside the claw machine was accomplished by extending my legs forward and leaning my weight back against the glass—my legs were completely numb afterward! The giant teddy bear's fluffy texture felt remarkably realistic; leaning against it brought a wonderful sense of security, which perfectly reflected Chinatsu's desire to mask her soft, adorable inner self.

The next few sets moved to the front of retro TVs, wearing that giant pink bag. Decorated with speaker-hole-like details, the bag wasn't light, but it added substantial volume to the overall look. My favorite is the back-facing look-back shot; the lateral line-art silhouette is super sharp, and the standing posture fully displays the combination of white thigh-highs and pink platform chunky shoes—the soles are thick and the color is delightfully playful.

The most delightful surprise of this outfit was actually the red tie: its white star and angel wing patterns, paired with black collar straps and studs, blended rebellious punk with dreamy girliness. This contrast fits today's popular anime subculture aesthetics perfectly. During shoot breaks, I tried standing on that elevated rack with one hand resting on the retro TV behind me, watching colorful anime footage playing on screen, genuinely creating an illusion of stepping into a cyber game world.

Of course, as Chinatsu is a bit of a crybaby, I also experimented heavily with expressions. I couldn't smile too broadly; it needed a hint of aggrieved stubbornness, as if tears would spill the next second yet she's desperately holding them back—capturing this character nuance is truly a fun part of cosplay. Furthermore, pairing white thigh-highs with a thigh ring requires great harmony; without the thigh ring, the lower body would look plain. The thigh ring echoes the neck collar and black wristbands on the arms, bringing high completeness to the outfit.

To fit Zenless Zone Zero's blend of urban legends and arcade elements, I specifically adjusted post-processing logic to retain the original neon purple tones without heavy skin smoothing, keeping skin texture more natural. When shooting scenes like this, pre-shoot posture design and expression management are far more vital than post-processing filters. My favorite shot this time was interacting with that blue-and-yellow hanging charm—it didn't clutter the frame while adding a touch of playful charm. Cosplaying in a space-distorted venue like an arcade requires letting go completely to capture the best moments.
